Since he'd finished his patrol and his homework Wally elected to go for a flight on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. It was one of his favorite powers after all. He flies out over the ocean at high speed, enjoying the air and the sun. The hybrid hero skims along the surface of the water and then shot up high into the air. After a few flips and barrel rolls, he notices a plane and flies closer to give people looking out the window a little thrill in the form of getting to see a superhero. With that done, he heads back towards the land.

"Great day so far. Maybe I'll get some more patrolling in," he muses, idly searching for any trouble or other flying heroes as he heads back into the air over New York City.

As Wally was patrolling, Spider-Girl was making her way through the city on a patrol of her own, swinging her way through the streets of New York City. She was really get the hang of this, swinging over buildings. She hadn't had a scare with the webbing snapping on her in awhile.

Crap. She spoke too soon. The webbing sent, and Spider-Girl went hurtling towards the ground. She tried to fire another strand, but was finding it hard to focus....

Humming a little tune, Wally spins in the air and speeds up a little. Seeing Spider-Girl down below, he's all set to wave and call out to a fellow hero. This stops quickly when he sees her falling.

Smirking, Captain Marvel shoots down and catches the web-slinger. "Hiya," he greets with a grin. "Forget you can't fly?" he teases a little.

And she landed in his arms with a THUD.

Spider-Girl smirked. "Not exactly. Just sent my line out too thin. Thanks for the save, handsome."

Wally just grins and laughs. "No need to thank me. Us hero types are supposed to stick together," he says, flying towards a rooftop. Once he lands, Wally lets Spider-Girl down. "You alright?" he asks.

"I'm fine and dandy, since you saved me from becoming sidewalk pizza." She said, smoothing down her costume. "It's not everyday a cute guy in tights saves you from an untimely end."

Wally smiles and quirks an eyebrow. "Really? You must not get into danger much since there are a bunch of us here in NYC," he chuckles.

"It's not that I don't get into danger...just never had a line give up on me when I'm doing the whole 'web-swinging' thing that I do best." She extended a hand. "Spider-Girl, by the way. In case you couldn't tell."

"That web-swinging thing does look pretty cool," Wally admits. He shakes the offered hand and flashes another grin. "I'm Captain Marvel."

"It's awesome. Beats flying, I think. But I'm biased." She grinned. "Nice to meet you, your Marvelness. I don't think I've seen you around here before...you new?" Then again, she wasn't exactly social with the hero crowd herself, so he could've been around for years and she wouldn't have noticed.

"Oh man, nothing beats flying," Wally laughs. "I was just way up there flying around with the clouds and planes and stuff," he says. "I'm newish. Been away for a little while but I'm one of the Avengers."

"I'll take your word for it. Though swinging through the city, over the skyscrapers and the traffic is pretty damn awesome." May nodded. "Aaah. I've heard of the Avengers, but I can't say I'm really friendly with them or anything.

Wally laughs. "Going over the traffic is awesome," he agrees. "Just maddening when ya get stuck in traffic knowing you can just whoosh," he says. "Huh? Why not? We're a friendly bunch."

"I'm kind of new to the game myself, you could say. I've only really been doing this for about half a year, and I was only sticking to the smaller scale stuff, like your everyday muggings before. I don't think I'm at Avengers levels yet."

"Oh," Wally nods. "I started out Avenging. Hero kid and everything," he gestures vaguely. "So you really haven't fought any super villains yet?" he asks curiously.

"I've faced my fair share of bank robbers and went up against a crazy magic-hungry ex-professor, but no Doctor Dooms or Green Goblins." Technically, she was a hero kid too, but he didn't have to know that.

"I'm sure I'll have one of my own one of these days. Though for now, I'll just take whatever bank robbers and carjackers come my way." Spider-Girl let out a chuckle. "Like a panther, hiding in the shadows, waiting to attack its prey?"

Wally takes a breath and looks up. "It's boring days like this that make me understand how my uncle must feel like...almost all the time," he says. There's a pause. "Cause he's all superspeedy," the hybrid explains.

"Is your uncle Quicksilver or someone?" That was the only speedster she knew off the top of her head. She was pretty sure there was another one, that had been on the Young Avengers back when her dad was still active as Spider-Man, but she couldn't recall his name...

Speaking of family.

Somewhere on the West Coast, a friend tells him there's been a sighting of a new Captain Marvel. He thinks he knows who it is.

All the more reason to stay out of New York.
