Cygnus,

Maman has mentioned your return home after an eventful few days. Do tell me, are the newly weds at each other as much as I assumed they'd be? -- and, more importantly, how scarred are you with hearing them?

The Dashing Alphard Black

Oh Darling Young Snotty-Nosed Brother o' Mine,

Ruined? That is quite an accusation. Details, man, I need details! Were they sucking the faces off of one another or simply locked away in their chambers? Did they ever bother to eat? Did YOU manage to keep it down if they did?!

Well I'm not babysitting -- I've got it in early.

Alphard

Ruined. Ruined, Alphard. I hate that house, because now, when I walk into the kitchen, I don't see a counter with food, I see a counter with Walburga and Orion enveloped in each other's arms and legs and UGH, I hate you for making me relive it.

I just hope Druella and I don't look like... that.

I THINK I'M ALLOWED TO BE SNOTTY AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE SEEN

You mean they went at it on the counter?! Good god, Cygnus, I hope you and Druella don't look like that -- at least, give a man some warning, keep it in your study or something to that degree!

You love me really, you're just throwing a typical fit. (That's really no reason to be snotty though, I must say.)

The counter, the chaise longue in the reception room, by (and, I'm sure, in) the fountain, by my door, indoors, outdoors... There was a day I did not see them at all, but the thought of them progressing far beyond the heavy petting I was witness to brought me little comfort.

In my study? Hah.

A typical fit? Please, remind me, why is it that I was sent? You are Father's heir, after all, big brother.

You quite obviously took very detailed notes, Cygnus -- planning ahead for your own marriage, it seems. Remind me not to visit for the first few years.

Father sent you because he didn't want his precious first born scarred beyond all reason. Do you blame him? Send the spare!

I didn't mean to. It just became necessary to keep a running of list of sullied locations -- obviously I wasn't going to eat at the same table they... well. But I'm not a savage like Orion, Alphard; I will not be ma havi f subjecting my wife to such indignities!

Just another opportunity to one-up you, I suppose.

If that is what you call one-upping me then by all means, have at it dear brother! I'd rather you suffer their indignities than subject myself to such matters. Can you imagine? I might never look at the woman figure the same again if I had -- that is a tragedy.

I picked up quite a nice one today, dear brother! Eager to please, she is. Are you jealous?

Not at all! I'm sure I'll enjoy all sorts of nuptial bliss.

I'm sure you will, Cygnus. So very sure you will.

You need to wipe off that smirk I know is on your face and shut up.

I don't take direction very well, why don't you come and make me?

I assure you we will. Having lived in such proximity with our brutish cousin, I've learned a few things about making people see.

Have you? Because I have yet to, dear brother. All this talk, no action, I'm beginning to think you're bluffing. You know.. that thing pansies do to make themselves seem tougher than they are?

The best predators only appear unassuming, Alphard. Go play with your easy little conquests -- I'll wait for the opportune moment and catch you unaware.
