Night Driving- Thomas
Chasing down a lead on a drug ring had brought Sam to Gotham where he had run into Thomas again. After busting up the ring there the ringleader had already left and was headed Hub City. At least that's what they guy thy had scared into telling him had said. So they headed out to try and catch him.

Sam let Thomas do the driving since he still hadn't learned to drive himself. After several hours of late night driving they were both starting to feel pretty tired.

He had to admit, the way some of them scurried away when they saw you coming was rather satisfying. Good, they should fear bats.

Although he's sure that they were responsible for the marked increase in bat phobias over the years.

	"Yeah I can definitely see how that would make things easier," Sam says, "I would just actually shoot them with an arrow first." Usually one of his blunt arrow but sometime a pointy one. 	"Really? Even with the arrow car around and collecting dust?" The music did help, and really with the speed they were going they already got enough attention from the very few cars they occasionally passed. "Hey, if it's a big enough city and you need to be somewhere fast...it's useful. Not to mention using it as a weapon in fights. Seriously, having that car drive into something has been a life saver before. Although you should really update that death trap anyway."

Thomas rolls his eyes at the snail-paced car. Really, it wasn't like there was police around, why go that slow? Speed limits were suggestions. "The new one seems more reasonable," he agrees.

"Trained by Green Arrow has to count for a little." Although he was of the opinion that it didn't count for nearly as much as trained by the Batman.

"...Stuff. Wasn't true but when people don't know anything about the situation they say that stuff. I broke his nose for it. Let's just say that set the rest of them straight too. Or at least left an impression." He knew what people thought when any woman was with the billionaire Bruce Wayne, and that was compounded when there was a kid involved. But they knew nothing about Batman or the fact that his mother had more than enough money of her own. People made the mistake about saying that stuff around him only once. He found ways to make sure the second time never happened without breaking noses. Bat glaring practice had many applications.

"Street fighting has its uses, we mix it with the martial arts because let's be honest, thugs don't fight fair." And martial arts, as Dad would stress, was about control. Had to be in control of yourself. Which didn't leave much room for anger.

"Nothing bad I hope," he says while doing a turn that clearly wasn't meant to usually be done at the speeds they were going.

"Well at that point I was just starting to learn martial arts so I just used what I was most comfortable with in those fights," Sam says. Sam's martial arts training had more to do with acceptance than control and some zen stuff he still didn't fully get.

"Nothing worse than anyone else in the neighbor I was from," he says with a shrug as he tried not to let the fast turn move him too much.
