Background History:

Kankuro didn't have the most normal childhood, but then who does nowadays anyway? His mother died when he was just three while in childbirth with his little brother. Apparently it really made his father angry to lose his mom to the new kid; Kankuro doesn't really remember any of it, but his new baby brother had to go live with their uncle Yashamaru and he never got to see him.

So he was raised with his older sister Temari by their father and a bunch of nannies. The nannies mostly took care of them, because their father was just angry all the time and didn't really seem to have much time to spare for the two of them. None of the nannies stayed long either, though. It wasn't that he and his sister were bad kids, they just never got enough attention so they tended to act out a lot.

When he was young, Kankuro liked to play with dolls. He got made fun of a lot by other kids when they found out, so by the time he was ten he'd stopped playing with Barbies and was really into puppets instead. It was still gay according to the other kids, but at least less gay and he bullied and beat up whoever made fun of him so it all evened out. When he was twelve, he'd gotten good enough with the puppets that he started to learn ventriloquism as well, and even won a school talent show. The talent show gave him a taste for performance, and he joined the band when he entered high school. Kankuro learned how to play the guitar and managed to become more cool than gay, finally. Being in the high school band still didn't get him any chicks, though. And despite asking over and over, his dad would never come to his performances, instead getting on his case about how much the instrument and uniform rentals were costing.

His father died when he was 19 and Kankuro tried not to care. The man had been a real dick, but Kankuro still cried at his funeral. He'd wanted to eventually prove to him that he could do something with his life and make him proud, but that never happened. After that, he moved the hell out into his own place. And he got to finally meet his little brother, which was great. He could start making up for lost time and get to know the kid. (Sort of; Uncle Yashamaru didn't let them meet all that often.)

He never went to college, never having been very good at school and learning. That was all Temari's thing. After he graduated high school, Kankuro kept up his guitar playing hoping to make it big someday and got a job as a parking attendant. It was an okay job, but boring as all hell. The most exciting thing that ever happened was getting to valet park a really nice, expensive car. A couple of times, he actually caught someone trying to break into one of the parked cars and got to beat someone's ass. That was fun, too.

So when he found out that both his sister and his little brother were working at a place called Feel Good, Inc., which was apparently a porn company, he decided he better be close to make sure they stayed safe (even though Temari had made it pretty damn clear she didn't need protecting; he still liked to watch over her all the same). And working in a place where there was sex and naked people all over the place could probably get pretty dangerous. ~~Not to mention more interesting than working in a parking garage.~~

Luckily, there was even a spot in security open for him.

So now he works security at Feel Good, Inc. and is looking to start up a band in his spare time.

Personality, Likes & Dislikes:

Kankuro can sometimes seem like a really gruff and grumpy guy; he has a rather short temper and hates it when he's picked on. He doesn't have a whole lot of patience with people who're obviously younger than he is (supposedly younger kids get more attention and it makes them act like spoiled brats, but he never got attention like that, so why should he give a shit about them or put up with their crap?). Unless that younger person happens to be his little brother. His dad never liked Gaara, but Kankuro really can't see why. He feels really bad that their dad was such a dick especially to his little brother, plus he thinks Gaara seems sort of fragile (and yeah, a little scary; he's so damn quiet and serious!) so he wants to really take care of him and make sure he's safe. And now that they work in the same place and all, he can finally get to know his little brother! And he loves his sister and is really protective of Temari too, even though she could probably beat his ass. So to sum it up, he's very protective of his family and anyone else who gets close to him. Despite his gruff demeanor, Kankuro's got a pretty tender heart.

That protectiveness carries over into his work, too. If it has to do with safety, Kankuro's all over it. If you try breaking safety rules, he'll come to give you a thrashing.

He really loves puppets still, and has a few collected at his cruddy little apartment. His real pride and joy is his guitar, though. Someday he wants to be in a rock band, and it'll be called PuppetMaster. He's already decided; other prospective members have no say in the name. And they'll all wear face paint. Kind of like KISS. Fuck yeah. He doesn't really like their music, but the face paint, man, the face paint.

Sometimes he tries to write songs, and they all end up sounding like complete rip-offs of Queen songs. Plus, he really can't sing (but he can throw his voice and speak with his mouth shut!) so it all sounds kind of crappy except for his guitar-playing. Freddy Mercury is his idol, along with Michael Jackson.

If he's ever scheduled to work security at night when things are quiet and he's basically alone, he might sneak onto an empty set in front of the cameras and put on a little show for himself.

And he's a total virgin. Never even been kissed. It's partly because he's not the prettiest Sabaku by far, and he's been kind of gruff and lonerish his whole life. And it's also because he has no idea what sex or love is supposed to be like, so he's afraid he'll fuck it up (like, in a bad way) or won't be able to perform. It may also have to do with being a little sexually confused too; guys aren't supposed to get hard-ons from thinking about or seeing other guys but sometimes it happens to Kankuro. He insists he's not gay though. He likes girls just fine damn it. ~~As long as they're brash and headstrong and could probably kick his ass.~~

I can't believe Michael Jackson's dead. He was my idol man. Like, him and Freddy Mercury were the best singers I ever heard and now they're both gone. Unfuckinbelievable. Careful with the pills guys, they think that's what did him in. I heard even Tylenol is bad for you now. What the hell.

Fuck all the people who call Michael a child raper and shit and the ones who say Freddy got AIDS cause he was gay. It's all lies. Well except the gay thing, I guess if you sleep with dudes you're probably gay. But bein gay doesn't give you AIDS. Girls get that shit too. The more you know.

Anyway I'm holdin a memorial thing out back in the parking lot later tonight after work if any of you wanna come. Bringin my guitar and I'm gonna sing some tribute songs, and there'll be soda and chips and if any of you wanna bring something that'd be awesome. Bring your lighters too. We'll cry manly tears together, and sing and dance and grab crotches. But not each others. Just, you know, our own. For Michael. I don't think he was gay like Freddy; he just liked to touch himself. That's cool, I like to touch myself too. Who doesn't?

“Oh... oh god. Fuck. Fuck no!”

No guy is ever supposed to see his sister naked.

So when Kankuro sees Temari is in the movie that's filming in one of the theaters and currently streaming on security cam seven, his first instinct is to turn the hell away. And he does for a while, checking out the other security cams for suspicious activity and ignoring cam seven. Even though behind his eyes he can't get the image of his naked sister to stop coming up. And she's not just naked. She's doing things with some guy and you can see her... her everything.

And Kankuro wants to vomit a little. It's so not right. Temari's probably going to kill him later if she ever finds out he saw her like that. But it's not even his fault; it's his job to watch the cams and right now he really wishes he could be out wandering the building instead of monitoring the cams but that's not his task today and... okay, fuck, calm down.

He'll just... sneak a peek at cam seven every other minute to make sure things are alright. His eyes flick to it for a moment and he lets out a groan. Gross. It was long enough to see that look on her face, the one he imagines a girl would make right before she... well, shot her load. Or whatever it was girls did. The dude kind of looked like he was hurting her, and he was so... so big. But she'd probably kick his ass if he went to try and save her from the dude fucking her. Maybe she liked it to hurt.

...Grossss.

Now he feels even sicker. And everything's all clear on all the rest of the cams. Desk guy is at his desk, doing desk things and staring at his computer screen. Cool. And there's Gaara in his own office, doing his human whatever job (and doing a damn good job at it, too, whatever it is he does). The halls are clear except for people walking around. And why couldn't he be scheduled over at that Angel's Hell place today instead of the main building? It was more fun to beat up dudes who didn't pay than to watch these damn screens anyway. Things usually went pretty smoothly here.

And usually he didn't have to watch his sister--his eyes flick to cam seven again and he grimaces—giving some guy a blow job.

And fuck, he really shouldn't be getting hard right now. Of all the damn times for his stupid hormones to act up it'd have to be now, wouldn't it? Kankuro gags even as he feels his pants tightening, and makes a run for it to the bathroom. A puke and a wank. That should take care of everything except the mental scars...
