Fantastic...
Well it's been a crazy week already. I've been working on Scribbld so much I can't stop thinking about it. All I can think about is Perl, Apache and configs. It's ridiculous! I think everything is pretty much set right now. It should be pretty self-sustaining as far as I can tell. I do have to configure a few more things, but after that I am definitely going to take a break from it. This is way more then I expected/wanted. It's not a bad thing it's just people seem to want more then 1 person can handle. I am doing this because it looks like people are interested and they're definitely a lot of appreciative people out there, of course as with any site there's a few douchebags. That's the first thing you need to know when you're making any site that will allow people to become members. There's always going to be 2-3 douchbags in the crowd. Those kinda people should just stick with MySpace, douchebags.com, yeah. Fuckin' fun-suckers. Oh well :)

I am thinking about offering my services in setting up LJ clone sites. $149 for the initial install so long as you have a Debian server with root access. I think that's a pretty good deal. I might offer support after the initial install for like $139/hr, minimum 1 hour. We'll see...

So I had some consulting this morning. Very simple. I dropped by the Dog to grab the new Scribbld server. Got it up and running although I did hit some snags since the hardware was so new. Did get it to work though.

Also worked at the barn this afternoon and got my stuff done pretty quickly. I worked Nippet for a little, that was fun, gave him some treats.

Oh so here's some pics of the new server along with the setup.

So Emilie is getting us some Chinese food for dinner, I cannot wait. Tonight I am working on getting PHP recompiled with gd, xml and mysql so that ZenPhoto works. Also working on getting MySQL up and running again and making sure backups happen. Hopefully I can get that all done tonight.

Tomorrow night my Dad and I are going out to dinner and probably a movie, although there aren't many good movies out so it might just be dinner.

On Friday Keith, Kat, [info]makkintosshu, Emily and my Emilie are going to dinner and then to see Cloverfield! It's going to be awesome.

I think I need to play some Call of Duty 4 also...RAWR KILL PEOPLE!!!

Yaha yeah yeah! You can actually use any machine, it's just the type of software that you use :) Heck, you could probably use the computer you're using right now as a server :)

It reminds me of my mom's office. She works at a school library with about 25 computers hooked up to the same server box and everything. Her office is probably the size of a medium cubicle and is entirely enclosed, making it VERY hot in there (though that just might be the room and not the computers). I hope your computer room/area doesn't get unbearably uncomfortable.

But yay! New server, makes me happyyyyy!

Haha no, fortunately it's really cool in that room. Even in the summer it stays pretty cool which is great.

Is Call of Duty 4 any good for a newbie FPS player? Nephew wants it and I've been looking for a FPS to try out that isn't a WWII game. Figure if its worth it I'll get it for him for his b-day. (He doesn't have a 360 so he leaves his games at my house so I get to play his games. Free games, wh00t.)

Yeah yeah I think it's great. It's a different FPS though. It's almost like an RPG FPS cause you level up your guy and you get access to new guns and abilities, it's really good though. Definitely worth trying!

Haha well if I am going to make to 100 movies I'll definitely take your suggestion. Sadly I've not heard of the movie Atonement, but I most certainly will look into it!!
