RPG Challenge - Chris
Ze Rules:

1. Truth or Dare: Post a scene idea as a dare. It can be in-canon, or it can be AU. You can challenge any of mine with any of yours. I can take the dare, or turn it down, by offering an honest in character answer to any question you want to ask. If I take the dare, you can set up the scene and we'll play through it.

2. Putting the 'R' in RP: So most of the time, rp comes down to casual social or big mod-run plots. This is neither, so let's spice it up. Your dare-scene challenge must involve either A. gratuitous violence, B. gratuitous nudity (I'm willing to play out sex scenes if they make sense, or hint at them) C. gratuitous crack. - because these aren't going through moderation, they can't really change anything, no new powers, no big item acquisitions, but gratuitous hero battles or villain of the week-ish stuff should be okay. Multiple choices from A, B and C are also possible.

3. Pay it Forward: As usual, if you take this challenge and post a scene idea, you also need to put this up in one of your journals, and offer some or all of yours up for scene challenges. Now the tricky part - if I take a dare, I will temp at least one of the NPCs needed, if any are. I will not require you to NPC for me, no. Instead, you must temp at least one NPC in any dares you take.
And, why yes, this is an effort to get people to temp occasional npcs for others in order to encourage RP. You have an easy out in any scenes you're truly not comfortable with - you can always take 'truth', and I may, not every scene will fit my characters or my fancy... but the idea is still to encourage rp, get people doing scenes and playing with characters, whether AU or our canon, and doing the little things to help get scenes going.

My characters potentially up for this:

Will Freeman/Shazam
Michael Choi/Firestorm
Jonathan McIntyre/The Machinist (superhero name pending)
Bob Grayson/Marvel Boy-The Uranian

Re: Alternate Universe: Earth 1.5 (Michael is not as clueless)

Ash had gotten caught up in her duties. She was a Princess and thought of Atlantis first. Then her family and the Titans. Her own needs came last. It was no surprise to anyone that knew Ash that when it came to boys she was clueless.

Others who kept an eye out for her? Not so much. They could recognize something might happen from a mile off.

Michael made it a point to find out the basic ways to approach the Princess, since he didn't know where she was and it was doubtful they'd let anyone just come up to her. So when he did find one of the guards to show him where she was, he had to power down and show exactly what was in the box.

When they finally made their way to where Ash was, Michael tried to follow the lead of the guard and hold back. ut when the guard decided to take a bit longer...

"Hey, Princess!"

That was true. As he had seen at his school a few of the guards had a soft spot for Ash and kept a very close eye on her and not just because it is their duty. It's like having honorary uncles some days.

Ash blinked and turned. Oh! It was Michael the surface dwelling hero. She smiled a bit and moved to greet him.

"Hello Michael."

"I brought you your gift. I know I said I'd leave it at the tower, but it didn't feel right just leaving it there." Besides, it's very very personal and he didn't want anyone snooping.

In the box, when Ash would actually open it, is a very ornate necklace made up of slow-tarnishing metals and blue patina. he was trying to impress a princess here. Nothing but his best would do.

Her friends wouldn't have snooped that much. Just made sure it was safe for their friend because hello Batclan.

Ash blinked in surprise and picked it up to look at it carefully. She blinked slowly. Then looked over at Michael trying to read his expression.

Boys are weird. "It.... It-it's very beautiful M-m-michael."

Why was she stammering again? Argh.

"Good to know you like them, Princess. I had to match them to you," Michael said. It wasn't smooth, but the sentiment was there. Michael smiled, the sincerity of his words coming across in a manner than he hadn't heard from himself in a long time. Not since he showed Briana the-

No. No time to think of the past.

"I have something I'd like to ask of you, Princess."

It's at that point that Ash notices that he is acting different. It's weird and leaves her blinking up at him.

And she doesn't know it but another Atlantean is listening in now. Not one of the guards either.

"Yes, Michael," Ash asks.

Michael tries not to be nervous. He really does. The thing is, he is not someone who can just walk up to a lady and simply ask her out.

"I was planning on going to the Guggenheim museum in about two weekends. Seeing how you did such a good job on the model you made me, I though you'd might appreciate it. And the company."

Well, not the smoothest, but there is sincerity in his voice.

"The Goo....Guggenhiem?" She blinked at him. At least she hadn't called it the Goo-Goohiem like she thought it was called.

She looks very thoughtful and is about to give him an answer when one of the guards interrupts.

"Princess I am sorry but that is just too much."

She blinks up at the taller Atlantean. "What do you mean, Paul? He was simply askling me to go somewhere."

He clears his throat a little nervously. "Your Highness, with all due respect, he's a surfacer."

Michael holds his breath for the answer when the random Paul asshole comes in. Michael is kind of confused about whats going on until he mentions the fact Michael is a Surfacer. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what he meant by that.

"Hey, Buddy, I'm a surfacer who helped protect your damn island when it was attacked not too long ago. And in case you haven't noticed, you are now surfacers yourself."

Paul actually looks kind of annoyed. Ash doesn't know weather she should laugh or be annoyed as well.

"See what I mean Princess? He mocks us. We have no choice but to be up here until there is a better solution," the guard points out. "Doesn't he know that we can not truly stay here?"

Ash holds up a hand. "I would ask you to hold your tongue. He may not know a great deal about our people but you just insulted him. It's no wonder he defended himself.....I think the saying is tit for tat? Regardless, you have no say if I choose to go anywhere."

Well, well, Princess, color Michael even more impressed. Michael smiles at the cute girl, turning away from the ignorant guard entirely.

"Thanks, Princess. I appreciate it. I'd have snapped back a hell of a lot more if you didn't jump in right there."

And now Ash is shyly hiding behind her hair. She can't help it as this is uncharted waters for Ash.

"Y-Y... you're welcome. I... I would enjoy going with you."

There is a long pause and a shy shake of her head.

"T-t... To the museum I mean," she adds while stuttering. Paul growls faintly before removing himself from hearing range.

Michael smile gets all the bigger.

"Cool, then. It's an art museum, so you can see what the surface has to offer. It'd be a good way to see what we're about. If you have to deal with more like him call it a cultural exchange."

"Well, we're not ignorant of the surface world. I know a little about Greek art," Ash offered somewhat shyly. "I've seen some pottery. It's um.... interesting."

"It's been two millenia since the Greeks. Art has changed a lot. Hell, the building itself I would say is art. So...umm..."

Michael scratches the back of his head.

"When did you want to meet? I think I could fly you there if you'd like, or we can meet and take the tour there."

"I'd rather meet there, actually."

To be honest she wants to ask some of the girls advice on clothes for a date. But she doesn't want him seeing it until she has had time to get used to it.
