[waiting to be picked up outside her apartment, saving Hashirama the trouble of walking up five flights of stairs to her door since there's no elevator here. is wearing a simple little black dress, hugging her arms close and holding onto her clutch purse, feeling out of place looking so nice while people walk around so casually. isn't used to going on dates like this, but has been getting used to it, and of course has a mission tonight but that can wait... is looking forward to these little dates.]

A case I have been working on. [isn't going to say much more of it either. isn't drunk this time to divulge in depth info.] It's either going to go two ways, be solved or be a cold case.

You're just like those detectives you see on TV... hunting the bad guy for years and years. But that's TV, no criminal can get away for that long, right? You're probably after some huge organization like the mafia or triad or yakuza, right?

You are intuitive. It is something like that. Most criminals who act in small groups or alone turn on each other and slip up easily. The larger ones have loyalty and can't be easily broken. Even after the head dies, the others will still remain loyal.

One bad guy is easy to catch, so if you hadn't caught him yet, that would mean it's several guys. I watch a lot of cop dramas... I didn't know it was really like that. I know it's your job and all and I should take it more seriously... but it sounds cool. A guy devoting himself to a greater cause like that... it's so admirable. [pretend to not be the wife who leaves him because of his job, check and done.]

[if only his ex saw it that way.] It does have it's downsides, not always cool. Sometimes, I will be gone for days and get called out late at night. [hint, hint. this could be the future so if you don't like that, run.] But a doctor has that as well. It's all a hazard of the job. [waits to see if its still cool.]

It's still exciting. To say your husband-- er, not that I'm imposing-- but that your husband is off at a stakeout, and you can't share details since it's confidential. Everybody's job has hazards, but to have that kind of dedication to your job is rare. Not many people realize how much goes into keeping them safe... it's admirable, really.

[smiles at hearing that. not the husband reference but the way it seems so understanding.] You truly are a kind person. And we will have to hold that conversation because we are here. [pulls the car up into a gravel carpark and turns off the engine, turning to Konan and smiling again.] You can't peek. I don't have a blindfold so I have to use my hands, if that is okay.

[steps behind and covers eyes with his hands, shuffling up behind guiding the way up the path to an old style looking large brick building. gets up to the door and keeps one hand over her eyes and reaches over and punches in the code on the keypad, waiting for the signal that the doors are unlocked and goes inside.] You can sneak a peek now but the best is still to come. [takes hands away. tada!] It's a museum that was ceased in a raid a couple of years ago. It's still private property owned by the government until they finally sell it off.

[shuffles along carefully, listening to the gravel under her feet change to cement, not hearing much noise around them except some distant cars... and hears a keypad, suddenly feeling fearful that he's found the bugs and suspects her and is turning her into the police and... oh, it's a... museum? leans back against him, feeling relief.] A museum...? [follows, looking around at the building, which looks beautiful and it's sad that nobody is enjoying it.] Not all drug dealers are bad people, huh. Goes to show even bad people can do good things. It will be wasted in the hands of the police. I hope someone buys it, it deserves to be shown to people. No one appreciates anything like this anymore, people are too busy, the younger generation just don't care. [looks at one of the paintings, early 1900's, amazing to look at showing how like was portrayed back then.] It may never be seen again by anyone else.

I'm sure they'll auction it off... and it'll be purchased cheap by collectors, doomed to hang over someone's mantle forever. Seen by one, not by many. There's not much appreciation for these types of things... [spots something she wants a closer look at, tugging him along suddenly.] Blue roses... they don't exist naturally. They said a single blue rose could grant you love, and all the prosperity that came with it. But it's sad, that they would be given such a high power, but lack the ability to exist naturally. I guess it means there's nothing in the world that can give you instant love. They are beautiful, though, and with white roses and blue dyes through the stem, they can be artificially created, but the color isn't like this. In Japan they genetically altered a rose to become blue, but... of course it still isn't natural.

People still need something symbolic to look up to, strive for and admire. Such as the fountain of youth and the holy grail, told in story of legends but the actuality of it existing is next to none.

That is true. But it's too easy, isn't it? A rose shouldn't be all that wins love, sometimes you have to fight for it. [and sometimes even fighting for it is useless.]

There had to be many other facts that will result in love, a true love, one that you will fight for. Like the Japanese and their meaning to flowers, it can't be taken too serious but people do. They will guide their lives by myths and superstitions.

True... But I think the meanings we give them can shape lives. Picture a woman dying of old age... her children bringing her a bouquet of her favorite flowers. Or a schoolboy crush, bringing her a handful of dandelions... those kinds of things change lives. But it's the meaning behind it. I like to think the beauty helps. Or in the case of your friend the bonsai, it offers a constant source of strength and inspiration right? Even though you neglected it, it forgives you... and even continues to grow for you. [enough of that, moves on to the next painting, looking over it thoughtfully, giving Hashirama's hand a little squeeze.]
