Content: Spring Fling Garden Party!

The whole school had been given a make over. Despite the looming feeling caused by the many aurors around the school, there was a light and springy feeling to everything. The herbology students and the garden club had been working extra hard to make sure that all the flowers were in bloom and looking good for the celebration. The Commons had been converted to a magical little garden with faerie lights dotting the trees and the bushes. Little tables had been set up and there was tea and tea cookies spread throughout along with small candles who's flame licked out the second they were tipped.

The doors to King's Hall were flung open to the Commons and the inside of the hall were decorated with spring colors and flowers. There were light gossamer streamers hanging around the ballroom and tables lines with colorful spring looking snacks. There was a highly monitored punch bowl though not too many people were drinking out of it despite the best efforts to keep it safe.

Apple/Marney

(Link)
Apple had, as promised, showed up at Marney's door a little before the dance. He had wanted to make a good impression but being punctual was never a strong suit for the boy. At least he made an effort to wear a fancy vest regardless of how ridiculous he really looked. Still, he was grinning from ear to ear even as he flummoxed his way through the parade with Hunter at his side.

After the parade, he searched Marney out right away and held his hand out to her. "Would the lovely lady grace me with a turn about the dance floor?" he asked, waggling his eyebrows comically.

Apple/Marney

(Link)
Marney had been impressed that Apple had actually showed up on time, she hadn't expected him to be so punctual. Not that she thought ill of the younger boy, but in her past experience, there were few of them that actually cared enough to show up on time. She thought he looked quite adorable and even complimented his vest as they made their way to the dance. She watched the parade with mild interest, trying not to snicker too hard at Hunter and Apple together as a pair. Whoever had made the pairs had a sense of humor, that was for sure, although she suspected Mack must have threatened them into letting her walk with Tatum.

She was extremely charmed when Apple sought her out immediately after the parade and asked her to dance. "I would be honored good sir," she said laughing at the boys waggling eyebrows as she accepted his hand. "I must be the envy of the ball with someone as handsome as you on my arm!" She gave him a wink and lead him to the dance floor. Initially, people had been a bit confused at Marney's decision to go with Apple. He wasn't her usual type, and she had a bit of a reputation as a man killer, but she rather enjoyed being here with Apple. He was sweet, and funny, and no a total skeeze ball like a lot of the other guys she had dated. Plus, Leland was furious about it.

"Think you're gonna win?" she asked, wrapping her arms around Apple's neck and moving to the music.

Hendrix/Ella

(Link)
Hendrix just wanted everything to go right. Everyone seemed a little wary about the dance considering how the last one ended with a strung up heart and a seriously strong love potion. All things considering, he stuck to Ella's side like glue the entire night. "Is there anything you need?" he asked swinging their hands back and forth.

He wasn't happy to be there... obviously. He had been dragging his feet the entire time he was getting ready but for some reason Faith had insisted they go and these days when Faith insisted, he answered in the affirmative. Despite his grumblings and complaining, he still showed up on time and with a big (somewhat forced smile). He did love spending time with the blue haired girl but there was something he so utterly disliked about being in public, about dances particularly. "You do not even like the music," he had told her.

Still, he sat there, bored to tears and sipping from his flask when no one was looking his way. He looked over with his puppy dog eyes, almost pouting. "Are you having a good time?" he asked.

"The best time" Faith shot back with a smirk. "This song is great, isn't it?" She cocked her head before grabbing for the flask. "Don't give me that look, you'll be dancing when you've had enough to drink. With the Spring Princess or whatever the fuck it is."

Sunny/Bastian

(Link)
Sunny had been torn between voting between the garden party theme and the decade dance but in the end was glad that the garden had won out. The whole scene was really quite nice and she felt like spring time in the dress she had chosen.

Sunny whirled around once while blowing bubbles into the air the deposited the bottle in her purse. She slipped her hand into Bastian's and gave it a little squeeze, smiling up at him. She didn't want to let her eyes wander from him. She reached up on her tip toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You're looking particularly dapper tonight," she grinned.

Leland/Emma

(Link)
Leland was having a hard enough time trying to keep track of his sisters all night that he barely even remembered he was at a dance in the first place. It was the first time he had really thought to look out for someone else other than Eddie and to be honest it was completely exhausting. It was even more frustrating that he couldn't really find anything wrong with his sister's chosen dates other than the fact that they were drug dealers. He was watching for an opportunity to speak to both of their dates all night. He saw the perfect opportunity and moved in. Adjusting his baseball cap he cut through the crowd and sidled up next to the blonde. "Thompson, we need to have a word," he growled, giving the tiny girl his best, this is serious face.

Leland/Emma

Ruby had just ran off to the bathroom, leaving an extremely buzzed Emma to sway slightly to the music. She was enjoying the feeling of the pills and the alcohol she had, along with all of the lights. They were just so pretty, all of them winking happily back at her. She was standing to the side of the dance floor with a happy grin on her face when Le walked up to her. She hardly noticed him looming over her before he growled his opening. She nearly had a heart attack, and whipped around to see him glowering down at her.

Her eye's widened in surprise and she instantly stuck out her lower lip in a pout, her eyes starting to tear up as if on command. "I didn't do it! I swear!" she yelled frantically. "I swear to god Le I've been a gentleman all night to Ruby! Hands above the waist and everything! Oh god." She could feel big fat tears rolling down her face and her lip quivering as she looked up at him. "Please don't kill me! I promise I'll never hurt Ru! You gotta believe me!"

Michi/Open

It had barely been a few hours and her feet were already killing her. Incidentally, they were only a few months away from being parents and here she was at a Spring Fling dance. Michi felt like her life was pulling her in two very different directions. There was school and quodpot and silly, frilly dance and then there was her new home, her's and Hunter's son, one month away from being born, and her job. It almost felt like a cross roads but she didn't want to be so corny in saying that, so she ignored it and just blamed it on the hormones.

Despite her internal conflict, she looked amazing as she strolled through the party and took over an empty table to rest a while and drink some tea.

Meka/Sim

(Link)
She had almost not wanted to come, the past three outings had been disastrous. She had never really expected smooth sailing with Sim but it would have been nice to have at least one nice dance. At Ikaia's insistence she wore a cute party dress with wedge sandals. Sometimes having a gay brother was a pain in the ass, he never let her leave the dorm looking any less than perfect when it came to social events. He had told her she was the "motherfucking president" and had to "put on a pretty face for her people."

Meka felt better once she was with Sim though, like she instantly relaxed once his arm was around her and she snuggled into his side. She looked up and gave him a cheeky grin. "What do you say the second we even catch a whiff of drama, we hit the road? I got a bunch of dumb movies and some beers."

Sim was pretty jittery, these kind of things had really started to put him on edge. It was so much easier when you just chased a girl around all night trying to get laid. Apparently having a girlfriend opened up a whole new bunch of drama windows to go smashing through. He hoped there would be no window smashing tonight.

"You're a perfect girlfriend, you know that" he groaned with a smile. "Sounds good, my nose needs time to heel or it's gonna get crooked" he joked. "Don't wanna mess up my pretty face."

Charlie/Alex

(Link)
Charlie wasn't even sure why she had come to the dance. She was still slightly mad at Alex, the girl was still digging at her about the quodpot match among other things. Watching Jenny with Sera still made her a bit sad and she had spent most of the night trying to avoid the couple. She had maybe hoped to catch Hunter for a few moments and talk quodpot but the taller blonde girl was busy with her pregnant girlfriend and Mack. All in all, it was becoming evident to Charlie that she really didn't want to be at that dance.

Showing up half drunk hadn't even made the situation any better, she just couldn't get into it tonight. It was nearing ten now and Charlie decided that she had had enough. Putting down her empty punch cup, she turned to leave and head back to her house when she ran into the person she wanted to see least and most at that moment, Alex. She missed the shorter girl something fierce, she was her best friend after all, but something just kept making her mad at her.

"Oh, sorry Lex," she mumbled, trying to shuffle around the shorter girl and avoid conflict.

Charlie/Alex

(Link)
Alex was in top form as she paraded her way around the dance floor, dressed well and chocked full of sarcastic comments for everyone. She was already more than a bit annoyed by both the stupid theme and the fact that she hadn't been voted as one of their stupid garden queens or whatever the position had been. What were people thinking, voting that little skank and her know-it-all girlfriend up there instead? Not to mention those two blonde cunts. It was a joke, really, it had to be. But there wasn't really anyone around to hear her theories and heated opinion, and that was becoming a bit too familiar of a feeling.

It had been a while since she and Charlie had been on proper terms, not since before all of this foolishness with those twins, but it wasn't as if she didn't want to see her friend. They had seen each other only once over break, at Charlie's house. She had been so otherwise occupied by the twins, it wasn't as if they had a chance to talk. Not that Charlie seemed to want to. She didn't see what she was doing wrong. She was simply so.. frustrating sometimes. It was as if Alex, all of those years, hadn't done anything for her!

As if she had never helped her keep her good name clean. Alex had, and would time and again, lie for her; she had always purported her best friend as a pureblood, even though it was the opposite of the truth, all for them, for Charlie's own good. Now the blonde didn't even seem to care, and now she was still caught up on that girl, on being some part of that group of stupid dramatic girls? It infuriated Alex, and it infuriated her more that she could do nothing about it. Charlie didn't want to listen to her, an unfamiliar feeling that was still setting in.

When they had been younger, Charlie wouldn't have dared talk back to her like this, act the way she was now. She used to be so grateful, used to look up to Alex so much, had never really questioned her judgement. Alex was the leader, and Charlie was her second-in-command. It was simply how it was. Who was Charlie to act all high-and-mighty now? If she couldn't see the trash she was associating herself with, Alex would point it out for her, simple as that. Charlie, her Charlie, would never have disagreed. She would have seen those girls for what they were. Whatever spell this Jenny girl had over Charlie now, Alex felt sort of like she didn't even know her. She knew, maybe it was better to just forget her, to write her off, but it wasn't that simple. She felt an odd compassion for her friend, like she was her responsibility. Not to mention, about the only person Alex could actually talk to.

Still, Charlie wasn't even really on her mind as she stormed through the crowd of the dance, making her way toward the punch table when she nearly ran into her taller friend. She hesitated for a split moment as Charlie tried to side-step her, before she reached out and grabbed the blonde's upper arm in her grip. "Don't sorry me," she replied coolly, watching Charlie closely, never taking her eyes off of her. "Are you finished with this little.. tantrum or whatever you're throwing? I've grown quite bored of doing everything on my own."

She lowered her voice on the last of her words, in a hushed whisper, as if ashamed to admit it. It sounded a bit too much like begging for Alex's liking, but she couldn't deny the fact. People feared her, yes. Revered her or envied her, some. But the list of people who actually liked her was considerably smaller. Without Charlie in fact, it was near empty. It killed her to admit, and she'd probably only say it on threat of death or something, but she needed the blonde girl.

Sam/Open

Sam was tired, he felt shitty, and his head was pounding but they had survived. In fact, they had done even better than he thought. Normally it would be awkward to wake up in the woods cuddling with your ex-girlfriend but for them it was a step in the right direction. If they worked together and took care of each other when they transformed, they would have far less to worry about in the future. He was feeling good about that despite the familiar ache of turning into a wolf at the full moon.

He had come to the dance though, he had been nominated for some flower throwing position or whatever and it would look weird if he didn't show up. Not that his and Tatum's disappearance the day before was any less suspicious. He had already heard the rumors spreading around the school like wild fire, soon everyone would know what they were, soon they would ostracized. For now though, he figured they might as well enjoy their time while they could. He had danced a little but decided to step out into the garden for some fresh air.

Dani couldn't remember the last time she had worn anything so colorful in her life. The dress had been something that her mother forced her to try on the last time they went shopping and Dani couldn't help but get it after seeing the dopey look on her ma's face. But only Danielle Quentin could ruin a cute dress with a pair of obnoxious yellow sneakers.

She wandered through the garden after having snuck some rum into her tea. It tasted funny but she slugged it down anyway and started fixing herself another cup.

Emma/Ruby

(Link)
It had been the perfect night so far, Emma couldn't remember ever having as much fun at a school dance before. She had gotten to go with her beautiful girlfriend and best friend, who she couldn't keep her eyes off of the entire evening. Perhaps it had been the vodka or the pills they had taken, but Ruby seemed to glow in a way that Emma had never seen before. They had spent the night drunkenly dancing and hanging out with their various friends. They had spent a majority of the time with only eyes for each other, and Emma was over the moon about it. They were dancing slowly now, the dance was beginning to wind down a bit, as well as Emma's buzz.

She leaned in close to Ruby, a mischievous smile on her face. "Hey beautiful," she said, kissing Ruby's nose. "What do ya say we duck out for a bit and finish up that flask of vokda?" She wiggled her eyebrows up and down at the other girl, still grinning. She might have had a few other plans up her sleeve but mainly she didn't care what they did as long as she was with Ruby.

Rath had been worried about Tatum but he supposed that everything went well. Still, he was worried about the way it would effect her after she had turned the first time. She was always looking over others and taking care of other people, this time she really needed to focus on herself and if Rath knew his sister, she surely wouldn't be doing that.

After sneaking off for a smoke, he made his way back to the garden just in time for the last few songs. He still hadn't been able to catch her alone but spotting the familiar red hair he was determined to talk to her. He swooped in. "Darling sister, I hope you've saved a dance for me," he grinned, offering his arm out to her.

Tatum/Mack

(Link)
Leaving her conversation with Rath behind, Tatum felt better and worse all at once. It was the most she had talked about the wolf since coming back from Sam's house, and it felt good to get off of her chest and explain to someone how it felt, but it was rather worrying still. Talking about it didn't change the reality of the situation any. It was her first moon, and there were a lot more nights where that came from.

Music had ended, and all of the people were dispersing from the dance inside of King's Hall as Tatum carefully maneuvered her way through the crowd, trying not to bump into anyone and avoiding trampling on any toes. There were a lot of flip-flop clad feet in the crowd. It was never hard to find Mack in a crowd, something she was always glad for, as she saw a familiar head of blonde hair above the other people up ahead of her.

Reaching Mackenzie finally, Tatum sidled up beside her in the crowd of people still pushing to get out of the hall and back to their dormitories. "S-Sorry I j-just disappeared. Twin time," the redhead murmured, holding onto her girlfriend's arm at the crook of her elbow, as if for dear life as more people crushed in against them while they headed out the doorway.

It was still crowded on the commons, but people were heading in different directions, teachers and staff barking at kids to go back to their rooms, that it was after curfew practically, and so on. "Wanna go f-for a drive? Like, before w-we go home," she asked suddenly, turning her head a bit to look at the older girl. "Your ass is r-riding shotgun, though."
