Yeaaaah, no. He hadn't touched the punch provided, preferring his own jungle juice when he could manage it. She was just so PRETTY and actually TALKING.
TO A GIRL. TO HIM. A GIRL. TALKING TO HIM. Best. Night. Ever.
"It's 'cause I got someone who ain't bad neither." He replied, laughing a bit. "Maybe it's the shoes, yeah? Good luck shoes or something?"
Ella gasped teasingly, and looked down at his shoes. "I totally bet you're cheating. I bet you charmed your shoes so you'd be the coolest dancer here. Scandalous!"
"Nooo" He laughed and took a step back. "I meant you charmed yours! Right? Yeah!" He was laughing by now and pushed the glasses up back the bridge of his nose.
"You charmed your shoes so I would dance... that makes no sense."
"Not much sense" Ella said, shaking her head in defeat. "I think we left sense back at pirate mice. Sense is overrated anyway."
They danced a little more, the song changed to a slower number and she put a hand on his shoulder. "Clearly my cheerleading prowess is rubbing off on you, you know? It would make anyone a great dancer. Truly."
Oh sweet zombie BeJeebus. A slow dance? If there is a god, then he is either vindictive, cruel, glorious or Denzel Washington. He squared his shoulders to the best of his ability and placed both of his hands on her hips and middle. All he had to do was... one hand, one hand away from bum. HE HAD TO RESIST.
"That's gotta be it. It's the magic of uh. Mice, your hair and cheer leading. That's the only reason I can think of."
"Or, maybe you just have a natural talent" Ella offered, swaying side to side. Was he leading her? She wasn't sure, but no toes were getting hurt in the process and it just felt nice.
"Usually I'd be limping by now. You should get like, a prize or something. Totally."
They were just uh. Swaying. He was holding her and they was swaying- so in theory, he supposed he was leading? Oh holy cornflakes, he was dancing with Ella Perry. "Maybe. Yeah?"
"I'll take that prize later, an IOU alright?" Now though, he was over-conscious of both his and her feet, trying to keep them as separate as possible.
"Right! For sure." Ella danced with him in silence til the end of the song, relinquishing him and grinning. "You should totally spread your awesome moves over the floor. Like, dance with some other lucky girls, you know? I should find my sister." She smiled and grabbed TJ into a warm hug, squeezing around his neck before letting go.
"I totally want to dance with you again though!" She called back as she made her way through the crowd.
