	Characters: Shelby Ginnish and Open Setting: Tuesday November 23rd, just before dusk, outside Rienzi House. Content: Mostly SFW, mild swearing Summary: Shelby goes skateboarding to burn off some energy. Sitting on his bed Shelby leaned forward and glanced around his room, noting his skateboard standing in the corner he shifted his eyes towards the clock sitting just at his bedside. Noting the time, and that he definitely needed to get out for a bit, he decided a quick skate was in order. He stood to his feet, reached his hands to his head and shook his hair, messing it up a little. He reached down to the floor beside him and picked up the first hat he could find amongst the pile of dirty clothes that were covering his floor like a blanket. Good to go, he thought as he finished doing up his shoelaces. Grabbing his board and mp3 player, he headed downstairs and outside. Sam had been doing his best to avoid going home early for the holidays. He spent as much time at school as possible but there was only so much guitar playing and reading one kid could do. He looked across the room to his skateboard and grinned. With a mouthful of candy corn, he skipped down the stairs with his board and hopped on and took off down one of the paths.

He boarded along the path, completely content to let the wind resistance blow his hair back a little. He opened his eyes just in time to see the technicolor that could only be one person. "Shelby Ginnish!" he called, hoping his voice would carry over his friend's headphones. "What's up bro?" he tipped his board up and plucked it from the ground.

Hearing something, Shelby pulled his headphones off one ear and turned to look. "Hey dude! Not much man." he shouted to Sam, spotting him immediately.

"Just going for a quick skate, What you sayin?"

Sam smiled. "Same here man, wanna go together? There's a pretty sweet set up in the parking lot," he said nodding in the direction of the parking lot. He had set up some blocks and wood for primal jumps a few days ago and it had miraculously held up.

"Sure thing dude ." Shelby replied with a goofy grin. He turned down the volume on his mp3 player before slipping it in his back pocket.

"What Really? How did I not know about that shit man?" he smirked, knowing it had been a while since he last got out.

"Guess I better check it out now." Shelby laughed, flipping his board to the ground at the bottom of the step. "Come dude! Get a move on." Before he finished he was already on his board and heading for the parking lot.

"I'm surprised I haven't gotten in trouble for loitering," Sam laughed. He was quick to follow, picking up the pace and catching up with Shelby.

Once in the parking lot Sam lead the other boy to the little jumps he had put together out of bricks and two by fours, it wasn't much but it was a miracle that they were still standing. He expected kids or faculty to have taken them down but apparently the CCI community was feeling generous. "Check it out bro," he grinned. "If you can pick up some good speed you might be able to get some decent air."

"Sweet Setup." Shelby gasped, taking a good look at the ramp." He looked at Sam, "I gotta try it out man, come on." Shelby shouted enthusiastically, flipping his board to the ground again. He pushed off with his left foot, and skated towards the ramp.

He was glad he ran into Sam, this was so much better than just practicing boring old flatland tricks in front of Rienzi house.

"Thanks," Sam grinned, letting his board drop back down to the ground. He followed behind slower so that he didn't run into Shelby as he skated for the ramp. He cheered his friend on with a whoop as he hit the ramp. He was glad he could share his project with someone who would appreciate it.
