"Right? That would be a mess," she laughed and took a step backward. "Sorry about that again," she had no intention of lingering, this girl scared the crap out of her.
"Yes, it would," Quinn nearly purred as she took a step forward as Sunny took a step back. She wasn't going to let the girl get away from her that quickly or easily. Quinn had a job to do, after all.
"So how's the love life? Going well? I'm curious to know how Stas is fairing in this relationship business." Though, she didn't really care. As much as Quinn liked Stas, she disapproved of this relationship. Highly.
Sunny knew she should try to at least talk to Stasi's friends, she would have to try and make the effort so she smiled and stood as if her feet were glued to the ground.
"Oh... um, it's great!" she said brightly. "Stasi is awesome," her face flushed slightly and she giggled. Oh stop giggling you silly girl! She straightened her face out enough and looked at the older girl.
Oh good lord, she giggled. Quinn had to hope that the momentary twitch of her eye at that ungodly noise hadn't been noticeable. She hoped that the shadows allowed by her hat hid it.
"Wonderful to hear," Quinn continued on in a pleasant enough tone. "Especially considering Stas is notorious for never being able to keep his hands off a pretty girl, relationship or no." She smiled even more pleasantly and added, "Congratulations." Not that she believed that Stas wasn't doing that very thing, or if she was at all exaggerating. It was all for the sake of planting that little bit of doubt.
Sunny smiled, she was completely aware of Anastas's past and of course there was that small inkling that she couldn't trust him but she pushed it to the back of her head. "Thank you!" she said brightly. She wasn't going to show an ounce of doubt in front of Quinn. She had no idea what to say, so she took another step backwards.
Quinn saw the next step back, and she shifted. Enough to bring her a bit closer to the girl backing away without having to take a full step forward.
"It's a fantastic ball," that Quinn could agree to without lying at all. She enjoyed the fake snow falling around them and the lights, without having to deal with the real downside of winter. That she'd have to deal with when she went home for break. "And I am. Are you?" It might not be by the time she let Sunny escape.
She nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! The snow is great! I can't wait to get home to the real snow."
"I'm having a great time," she said, which was the truth, Sunny always loved a good dance and it was rare that something ever got her down to the point of not enjoying it.
"Good to hear," she managed to respond fairly pleasantly. Quinn was beginning to loose her self control to not somehow hit the girl. How was it even possible to be this bubbly all the time? Job or not, Quinn had a time frame in which she could be relatively civil to the girl.
She just hoped Emilie was close to finished with Stas. Still, until she saw Emilie, she'd keep her eye on Sunny and throw someone else in her way if she had to. "You should probably go enjoy the rest of it then." Quinn nodded for Sunny to go on ahead and join the rest of the dance, letting her go. If only that were the case.
Sunny smiled brightly. "You too! And have a good vacation!" she bounced off, completely relieved to not be so close to the older girl. She feared the impending certainty mutilation or humiliation.
Mutilation and humiliation certainly was coming. As soon as Sunny had her back turned, Quinn's wand was out of her clutch. With a slight motion of her wand and an incantation whispered just loud enough to work, the senior sent a rather amusing hex onto Sunny.
That energetic and happy personality was certainly colorful that night. Sunny's skin had been changed to the most horrid color of green that Quinn's mind could conjure.
