Abernathy arrived rather late to the party. She felt horrible using her sister as an excuse to come to the party late and leave the party early, but Bernadine didn't seem to mind much.
"You'll regret it if you don't see him," Bernadine said just before they left.
"I'll see him. Seriously B. Drop it."
Bernadine just smirked at her sister and dragged her to Aunt Veruca's fireplace. "And please, for the love of god and all things holy, don't tell him that we've been here all week. He'll never forgive me."
"Your secret is safe with me," Bernadine replied before she jumped into the fireplace and sped through the floo. She didn't particularly like to travel this way, being mostly squib, but she understood well enough why Abernathy was lying about being at Aunt Veruca's all week.
Abernathy brushed a bit of soot off her jeans and observed the crowd in the room as they stepped out of the fireplace. The party was already hopping pretty well. "Well. Let's have fun," Abernathy said with a little shrug.
