Sam laughed. "That's so intense! She sounds like a lot of fun when she's not putting you under house arrest," he grinned wide. "She would definitely get along with gram gram though. She used to make us watch all her stories with her when we were on vacation and she was babysitting us," he laughed.

"Oh man yes! That's right, those things are soo good! I love being on a team of foodies," he smiled. "House Beauregard could feed the entire school with the way we cook."

"She really is the best," Jenny replied, trailing off momentarily. She did feel bad for how short she had been with her mother lately, but really, she didn't regret it. Even a girl as patient as Jenny could only take so much smothering before she got to the end of her rope. "She's the one who got me into soap operas. What a surprise, huh? She used to have them on all day when she used to stay with me in the hospital. I think I watched more Days of our Lives and General Hospital than cartoons."

Smiling some, she gave Sam a nudge. "Plan number one, get back to school, hassle Vinnie for pastry. Agreed? Two on one, we ought to be able to take him."

He giggled. "That's hysterical. Gram made us watch her telanovelas, all Spanish soap operas, all day," he laughed. "I couldn't believe it when Sofia left Raphael for good," he joked. "I could never follow the plot lines."

"Sounds like a plan to me little lady," he nodded. "I think if you give him your big blue eyes and I give him my infamous pout we should be able to win super easy. Plan number two? We distract the other quod teams with good food and booty shaking," he said giving his own booty a goofy wiggle.

"I'm just lucky that my mom doesn't know that much Spanish," Jenny murmured, grinning. "Or I'd probably know all the plot lines to those too. It's really mindless entertainment, you have to let your brain just go.. following continuity is irrelevant. It's like every episode, someone is back from the dead, or they just usher in a new actor like we won't notice, or a kid who was ten on yesterday's episode is now in his early twenties overnight. It's ridiculously amusing in that respect, anyway!"

When Sam shook his booty at her, Jenny didn't stand a chance of keeping a straight face, bursting out. "If you shake it like that, you'll distract everybody! We'll be doing laps around them," she joked. "Synchronized booty shaking will happen, yes or yes?"

"Ahh, so that's why it never made sense," he laughed. "It's not supposed to make sense," he nodded. "I like that they can get away with it, clever soap opera writers."

Sam was glad to hear that laugh, he would gladly look the fool to make sure his friends were having a good time. He laughed. "Brilliant right? We can work on our booty shaking routine once we're all together again," he giggled.

"Right? It is the laziest form of writing ever, but I bet they get paid really well.. they don't even have to remember what happened last week, they just make it up as they go along. It's brilliant in it's own way," Jenny agreed, laughing and shaking her head. "Maybe I should try to get a job doing that after I graduate. Might be fun."

Grinning and moving slightly out of the way as a couple ushered past them, Jenny nodded. "For sure. I bet even Vinnie can get behind that one. It'll be like, new moves," she agreed."

"It's like a surprise plot line every week! You never know what you're going to get," he grinned. "Oooo! You totally should! I bet you could come up with some fantastically ridiculous plot twists! Make it interesting, throw in some alien affairs," he joked. Why hadn't soap operas touched on the alien thing yet? I would totally watch them if they did!

"If only we could nail down aerial booty shaking," he pondered. "Might not be too reasonable though," he grinned.

"I'd throw in all kinds of interesting plot, trust me," Jenny assured him, grinning. Even if she just wrote some of the shit going on around campus lately, that could be considered interesting enough. Though she, of course, didn't say this. Thinking about the trouble at school was the last thing she wanted to do right then. Not when she'd just been getting cheered up.

"Aerial booty shakes might be a bit more challenging. Maybe with some levitation charms? Hold us up a bit extra?"

"Ooo! That's a great idea! A nice levitation charm would work perfectly! It would give you plenty of time get a couple shakes in there," he grinned.

"I always thought I'd start with a book or two first, but I guess a soap opera would be easier.. just making it up as I go along sounds just about perfect," she joked.

Jenny nodded enthusiastically, lifting their held hands up into the air in front of them. "Right? I think I have a book with just the right charm in it and everything!"

"Trouble about sums it up," she agreed, smiling. "In a good way, of course! I couldn't imagine it any other way. I don't know how people function on their own, it's like.. well, you know what it's like. This whole other person that you share everything with. I feel pretty lucky.. I might even say blessed, were I a more religious girl," she explained, giggling a bit. "Plus El's got that contagious smile."

"I couldn't say it better myself Jenny," he agreed with a nod. There were certain things of course that he had kept hidden from Marina but that made him feel even guiltier about it.
