Stas pressed the back of his hand to Sibyl's forehead. She didn't feel warm. "I think she is okay. Maybe she became too hot in the crowd." He hadn't seen the whole situation play out and could only make assumptions.
He pulled up the chair from Sam's desk and set it next to the bed. Taking the seat next to Sibyl he looked up at Sunny. He smiled at the way the bit of moonlight streaking through the curtains hit her features. "I am sorry for volunteering you to sit with me up here. We will miss the party."
Sunny sat on the bed next to Sibyl, she didn't know her well other than that she had dated Sam for a little while. Barely knowing the girl wasn't about to stop her from helping out. She smiled over at Stasi, it was nice to see him helping, letting that sensitive side show. "It's okay," she shrugged, going back to fussing over Sibyl, checking her pulse. Sibyl seemed to be coming down from whatever it was.
She checked for any medical bracelets. "We might have to call someone if she doesn't wake up soon," she said concerned. "Maybe we should get a cold towel," she suggested.
The one major downside from passing out, aside from the act of passing out itself, was the aftermath. The humiliation of having a spell in the middle of a huge group of people was the worst. The worst upon her coming to, however, was the headache.
Sibyl was first aware that there were voices, and not as many as there should have been in the living room. The more aware she became, the more she felt the pounding in her head. A low groan escaped her before she gingerly moved a hand to her head. After a moment, her eyes cracked open.
He couldn't decide if he minded the way Sunny had turned him into a fluffy bunny, a caring, stand-up kind of guy. He was turning into a genuine champion of women. "There is a reason why I adore you so much," he said reaching over to squeeze her hand.
"Maybe we should ask her what she would like," he added with a slight smirk as Sibyl began to stir. He turned to her and asked quietly: "how are you? Can we get you something?"
Sunny smiled and squeezed his hand back. She wans't distracted by him for too long when she realized Sibyl was awake. She shifted a little, ready to get whatever the other girl needed. "Do you remember what happened?"
It took a moment for Sibyl's head to clear enough for her to actually answer. For a few moments she was paranoid that if she tried, all that would come out would be complete garble. "I'm alright."
When those two words came out well enough, she glanced between the two other people in the room and continued. Slowly, but she answered. "Not... really. I think I had another spell." Never mind what kind of spell. "It happens occasionally. Come to with a headache. Ibuprofen and water usually works." There. Sibyl figured she covered the questions.
"I am familiar with this feeling," Stas replied with a bit of a grin. He didn't think this had anything to do with drinking too much, but his experience was just about the same. "I am betting Vinnie would get her some water. If he is still hovering just outside the door," he said to Sunny with a knowing look. He hadn't meant to be so harsh earlier; he found that in situations where split decisions had to be made it was easier to take charge and kick everyone else out of the way.
"Good call," she stood up and peeked out the door. "Vinnie! Can you get a glass of water? There's a bathroom right down the hall, there should be a medicine cabinet. Can you try to scrounge up some Ibuprofen?"
He had been standing there lost in thought as he listened to what there was to listen to. So having Sunny poke her head out the door and call to him made him start.
"WHA- Yeah! Sure, ok. I can totally do dat. You got it." He pushed off the wall to go toward the bathroom and look for what he needed.
There was a questioning look on her face at Stas when he mentioned Vinnie, and couldn't help but to lean to the side in a vain attempt to see out the door, wondering if Vinnie was still hovering around out there. Why would he have been out there? Did he see what happened?
Sibyl fought not to slap her palm into her face when she remembered that the whole room probably saw.
She slowly pushed herself up further onto the pillows, wincing a little bit as she moved her legs. Her knees both felt like someone had taken a mallet to them. Still, she pushed that aside and looked between Stas and Sunny again. "Uhm. Thanks for bringing me up here and out of... there. And for sticking around. Oh god, I hope I wasn't out long..."
He noticed her looking around for Vinnie, but he didn't bother to explain that he'd followed them upstairs. He didn't really know why and he assumed (wrongly so) that it was because of Stasi's reputation with the ladies.
"It was only a few minutes. It was not a problem." He offered her a reassuring smile, though he wasn't very good at them. "It was rather nice to get out of the crowd actually."
Once out of sight of Sunny, Vinnie sprinted to the bathroom, rinsed out his own water and filled it back with cold water from the tap, and opened the medicine cabinet.
He managed to find a bottle of generic ibuprofen, and after a moment's deliberation, taking the bottle and the water, headed back to the room that the three other students occupied. He walked in, and went to hand the medicine and the water right to Sibyl. "Didn't know how many you needed, so I just brought it all." He gave Sibyl a small smile or reassurance.
Sibyl managed a small smile back at Stas. The relief that she had only been out for a few minutes showed. "Crowds or not, I'm sorry you both ended up watching over me instead of celebrating." What a way to bring in the new year. "I'll probably head out after the Ibuprofen kicks in. You guys don't have to waste more of your night up here with me."
Her gaze moved to Vinnie when he came in with what could very well have been her means of survival. The headache wasn't lessening in any way, and her knees throbbed. "Thanks, Vinnie." Sibyl offered him a smile of thanks as she moved to take the bottle of Ibuprofen first, to get out the multiple pills she needed two hands to get.
"We like to help," Stas said giving Sunny a bit of side-eye. "Is there no greater way to celebrate than to help others?" He shrugged then and pulled Sunny to his side. "We wasted no time at all in your lovely company. However if you would like to be alone we will bid you goodnight."
"It was no problem at all," Sunny said with a smile. "I hope you feel better soon." Sunny snuggled in to Stasi's side and lead him back down the stairs where they could join the rest of the party.
