"I don't believe you~" Emilie was giggling again. She wrapped an arm over his shoulder, tilting her face ever so close to his. Sorry Alex, but it was only that little reaction that she needed. He wasn't going to get rid of her as easily a second time.
"All done~" Emilie leaned against him, though it was a little difficult because she was taller. So she just leaned her hips against him. Just as effective.
"Oh?" It was really all Alex could come up with at the moment. He could always count on Emilie to take him for a complete loop. "Well. That's, uh, good."
"Such--" Alex broke off, clearing his throat. "Such as what?" He continued, keeping his voice level. He stayed perfectly still, not wanting to... disturb anything.
Poor Alex. Poor stupid Alex. Though Emilie felt... little to no pity. He didn't really seem to get subtlety.
"Hmm. You maybe?" Her mouth was ever-so-close to his, she made it worse by slinking her other arm over his shoulder so that her arms hung loosely behind his back-- wrapped around him like a snake.
"Maybe if you stopped trying to play it so cool..."
Alex blinked at her, going slightly cross-eyed in the process. He had the vague, niggling feeling like something was off, but he was too distracted to give it much thought.
"I don't think, um..." He found himself staring at her mouth, distracted. It was, after all, right there. "What?"
Emilie's smile was slow, contained, and calculating-- with just the barest flash of teeth. So much for playing it cool, huh Alex? she thought to herself as she curled her fingers through his hair.
Her lip rings grazed the skin of his top lip and she could fee his shuddering breath against her mouth. "Cat got your tongue?"
He shivered again when her nails brushed against his scalp. Alex was having a hard time focusing on what exactly he was saying and hearing. Nothing made sense any more. What was happening?
He moved his face closer involuntarily. That's what people did when they had other people in their face, practically kissing them. "Um, yeah...?"
Emilie sighed against his mouth, her other hand tracing lazy figure-eights over his back. She might have to explain this to Quinn if she found out, which she probably would. Quinn knew more about the goings-on within Lalaurie house than she did.
Even with that in mind, she couldn't help but cross the line and cross that minuscule distance between their lips.
Alex swallowed thickly, every nerve in his body on hyper alert now. He could think of nothing outside of the sensations he was feeling, forgetting that they were in the common room or anything else outside of the bubble of just the two of them. His things on the chair he was standing next to... Wait, what chair?
And then his brain shut down completely. He stood there, dumbfounded with his arms hanging loosely at his sides. What should he do? Should he wrap his arms arms around her? Kiss her back? What? It took him a moment to kick start his brain again, but he finally raised his arms slowly and placed them on her hips and kissed her nervously.
If there was one thing Quinn didn't expect to see when she meandered downstairs to head to the kitchen, it was seeing her best friend kissing her little brother.
For a moment, Quinn stood there in shock. All thoughts of scrounging for food went right out the window as she stared at the scene in front of her. A part of her was jealous. Another part was horrified and disgusted. Another, and almost surprising, part of her felt strangely protective.
Still, before she could settle on which one was more appropriate and acting with that, Quinn let out a very loud and surprised, "What the FUCK?"
Emilie knew. She knew she was crossing a line that even she normally would have thought twice about. Part of her felt guilty, though it was admittedly a very small part.
That was, at least, until she heard Quinn's voice from a lot closer by than she had ever expected.
She wrenched herself from Alex, immediately pushing him back to her arm's length and stepping backward for good measure. What had she even been doing?
"Hey," Emilie greeted Quinn cautiously, her eyes wide as she mentally braced herself.
Normally, Alex would have snapped to attention at the sound of his sister's voice. Even if it was just to languorously ignore whatever it was she said. But this time, he hardly heard her. It was as though her voice was muffled, and far away...
And then he was stumbling back, blinking and confused. "What..." He followed Emilie's line of vision and saw his sister standing there, staring at them. He blinked at her. "Quinn?"
The quick decision was that Emilie was at fault. That cautious greeting and the dazed look on her brother's face could make her guess that much. Even if it wasn't, Emilie could probably take it a lot better than Alex.
"I don't fucking believe this," Quinn hissed, first with her eyes on Alex, then turning her angry gaze on Emilie. "Have you seriously gotten bored enough with the rest of the school body that you have to make out with my brother?"
