Hunter had been here for hours, playing the social game, and making herself known. She had flitted all over the place, spoken to everybody, been in a couple of drinking challenges, and had all but finished her entire twelve pack of beer that she had brought with her. Somewhere between talking to someone about how she was going for captain this year, and ending up where she sat now in the clearing, the beer had been demolished. She felt it, but it still seemed surreal. The only thing else she had brought with her was a large bottle of pink champagne: birthday parties always needed champagne, it was just classy. She had intended to share with people, Mari in particular, but she had forgotten along the way. Now it was late, and there was no one around except herself and the other curfew breakers, and she had a whole bottle of champagne to herself. Figuring that letting it go to waste would be a shame, Hunter stumbled her way over to where there were some plastic wine glasses on top of a cooler. They had been used, but Hunter shrugged it off, shaking it a bit to get rid of the excess liquor left in the bottom. Shaking the champagne just a bit, she gave the top a twist, and an explosion of foam sprayed forth from the bottle neck, splattering onto the grassy ground in front of her. "Fuck yeah," she said simply, picking up her dirty plastic wine glass again, and beginning to pour the champagne into it.

Hunter had spilled at least a quarter of the bottle onto her wrist and sandals as she tried to fill her cup, and when Mari shouted at her, it didn't help. She slopped more drink onto herself, whipping her head up to see her friend, and grinning right back at her.
"What the fuck does it look like I'm doin', bitch?" she replied, taking a couple of shaky steps back to grab the other plastic glass. She tossed it to Mari across the short space between them. "It's used but it works, fuck it, right? Ya gotta taste this shit," she informed her, holding the bottle by it's neck in one hand, and lifting her cup up to chug with the other.
