Meka hooked up Ella's iPod to her speakers and grinned when she heard the song playing. "This sounds fun," she said returning. She started doing some simple shoulder rolls to the beat of the music and stepping side to side.
"Feels like it's been a while, hasn't it?" she said trying to hide the obvious embarrassment about Sam's party. "Yeah, I was there," she said vaguely.
"I didn't see you either," Meka said mirroring Ella's little hop and then twisting on one foot. "Uhh... yeah, I was there for a while," she shrugged. "Drank too much though," she added laughing. "Why did you and Jen leave early?"
Ella added a dip in the middle, creating a pretty cute combination of moves. "I heard it got wild, I hope Sam had help clearing up."
She sighed and shook her head at Meka. "After Jen's fit our mom pretty much had her tied to the bed. I had to sneak her out and then we had to be back early before them." She grinned, she was still pretty proud about it. It wasn't often they broke the rules.
This was a lot more fun than she remembered. "That was cute!" Meka giggled trying to mirror Ella's movement. She threw in a few skips and cute hand gestures to go along with it. "Yeah, things got a little crazy," she said pasting a big, old fake smile on her face.
"Aww, that sucks," she pouted. "At least you got Jen out and about for a bit, I bet she loved it," she smiled. "Did you girls have fun at least?"
Ella threw a full twist into the mix, not catching Meka's rather fake smile. "Totally crazy. When we left some kids were trying to make pancakes in the microwave."
Her heartbeat was picking up now with the dancing. "I think she did dude, she was super nervous about going but like, people only stared at her at first and then it was forgotten, you know? I didn't kiss anyone but who can get lucky everytime, huh?"
She couldn't help but laugh. "Pancakes in the microwave? Damn! That must have been fun to clean up," she giggled.
"Yeah, kids forget things when booze and dancing are involved," she joked. She did a quick turn so she didn't have to lie to Ella's face. "Not this guy," she said, feeling bad about lying but not quite ready for that conversation.
"But let's be honest," she grinned at Ella. "The dating pool is pretty shallow."
Ella had to admit boys were not a priority for her, and laughed. "Seriously. We'll have to go out sometime and like, cruise for hot boys! Jenny should come, she's been acting weird recently."
Meka giggled, flushing a bright red. The idea of her cruising for hot boys was pretty ridiculous, in fact, she was steering clear of boys for about... forever, but she couldn't tell Ella that. "Definitely!" Meka agreed half heartedly. Stupid boys with their stupid ideas, she thought to herself.
"Aww, poor Jenny. Do you have any theories what's up with her?"
