Tatum/Gray

If she had been surprised before, she was surprised again when he actually asked her if she was all right. Was that a trick question? He did seem actually clueless to the situation. That was a good sign. Frankie hadn't ran directly into his arms at least.. perhaps she was just waiting for later.

That thought made her stomach twist again, and she felt her eyes beginning to fill. She kept her head partially turned, puffing at the cigarette, and keeping her chin up. "Not really," she finally answered, reaching her free hand up to swipe at her eyes briefly. "Not tonight."

Why was she even answering him?

"Oh... kay?" Gray eyed her a little, his eyebrows still raised. Tatum was Frankie's girlfriend, or so he thought, and you were nice to your friend's girlfriends, right?

If this were Rowan or Sunny... He would talk to her, right? Try to make nice, or whatever.

"Something happen?" He asked idly, breathing out a cloud of smoke. Was this like, a girl thing? Like... PMS, or having just seen The Notebook or something like that.

He quickly confirmed her earlier suspicions that he was clueless, and she immediately felt a little bit better. "You didn't hear?" she asked quietly, glancing at him and taking a small drag. She had been hoping Amber had been exaggerating with the everybody heard it routine, and maybe she had been.

"I got in a fight," she admitted. "Sort of," she quickly added, scuffing her feet on the ground slightly as she spoke, watching them instead of him. She didn't know why he was even bothering to ask. "It's over now, I'm fine."

Except, of course, that she wasn't. It was hard keeping it together, but at least with her head down, he wouldn't notice her eyes watering as she spoke. If he had to feign sympathy for her, it would just be awkward for both of them.
