Quinn really heard Michiko's voice before she saw the source, though it wasn't hard to find her friend in the few other people that were headed inside. Naturally, she grinned and returned the greeting with a similar kiss on the cheek.
"As do you, hot mama," Quinn smile broadly. Then she saw the box of shots under Michi's arm and she smiled a little wider. "I see you brought some of your own fun."
Leave it to Michi to do something halfway between silly and genius. "Good girl," Quinn practically purred at her, "I was hoping there was more to it than just coffee."
At the comment about the house, Quinn couldn't help but smile wider. Never mind that it wasn't exactly her house, but it was what she called home. "It would be a travesty not to celebrate this holiday, and this place is big enough to hold a good party. So I just have to convince my uncle to let me have it."
She laughed brightly. "Right? I figured a little kahlua won't make for too tragic of a morning," she laughed.
"That was really nice of your uncle," she nodded. Her mom would never let her have the house for a party though Anna probably would have let her have the apartment for a night as long as she promised to clean it. "That's what I'm saying!"
"So what have you been up to lately? It's been... oh shit... New Years since we got to hang out!"
"Not that he has any idea exactly how many people are here, or how much alcohol there is," Quinn added with a small shrug. It was the main reason why she had gotten him to take off for a couple days; now there was time to clean everything up before he got back.
At Michi's question, Quinn shrugged. "Not too much, honestly. Spent some time pissed off at Em, but that's pretty much the only noteworthy happening."
She should have figured Michiko would ask what happened. Quinn frowned as she handed a passing party-goer a few beads and returned her attention to her friend. "I caught Em kissing Alex a while ago. And no, it pretty much isn't. The bitch hasn't apologized yet."
Michi grimaced a bit at that. "I never thought of Alex as her type," she tried to say helpfully. "She'll come around eventually," she held out the box of shots. "Here! Let's do a shot!" she beamed at her friend.
"He's not. At least as far as I'm away. Probably some fucking game of hers again," Quinn muttered and quickly grabbed one of the offered shots. The armful of beads slid to her elbow as she nearly ripped the top off and easily shot it back.
Once she felt that wonderful burning sensation in the back of her throat, she felt the bile ebb away and she smiled. "Much better."
She nodded, she would have offered to talk to Emilie about it if Emilie had been any of her other friends. This was a special case. There was not amount of talking that would help. So she just nodded and took a shot.
"That's right! Tonight is about partying and getting reckless!" she said putting the box of skittles down. She tossed an arm around Quinn's shoulders. "Let's have fun hostess!"
Quinn nodded. "Damn right." It was her party and she wasn't about to let something that happened a while ago ruin it for her. Even though she knew Emilie would be around somewhere.
She gave a small whistle and one of the house elves popped up next to her, and after taking a few beads for herself, she handed the remaining pile off to it. "There," Quinn smiled at Michi and hooked an arm around her friend's waist. "Let's party."
Michi took a shot and bounded along with her friend. "Fuck yeah!" She threw some beads at a couple boys with a laugh.
She figured her friend could use a couple dances to get all the shit off her mind. Using her favorite charm she shrunk the box of shots and shoved it into her pocket before she began dancing.
