Setting: Apple's room, Wednesday evening.

Summary: JanJan does her best to cheer up what is a rather cheerless situation.

Wednesday meant several things to Janis Parke. Hump Day (in a non-gutter minded sense of the term), chicken nuggets for lunch, and day three without hearing from a lot of people's parents. From what she could see, there were three different ways her class-mates were handling it. Either A: Freaking out, B: Rationalize it away or C: already anticipate the worst.

Personally, Janis had no intention of jumping to any of those conclusions, but her resolve had not stopped her from texting her own parents several times during the day, every day. Finally, after her third message before 3pm, her mother replied, clearly having enough. "Yes. I'm FINE. Go do your homework and turn off your phone!"

Like Janis would do her homework.



Instead, she whipped out her handy-dandy easy-bake. Twenty minutes, one cup of water and a dash of sprinkles later, her results might not have matched her expectations, but she tried. Armed with sweets and a smile, she knocked on his door, because well. Gosh darn it. If cookies couldn't help, there was no hope in the world....
