Home Sweet Home (open) @ 08:16 pm

Gotham wasn't a nice town or a pretty one, but it was home and dammit it felt good to be home. Helena was very glad to be back and to be back to work. It was a little difficult explaining why she was gone, but it went reasonably well. She had also missed her own bed. A lot.

Most of all she missed being Huntress. The first night back she was in costume and out patrolling. It felt good to be doing something good again and to put Khandaq behind her. What the hell was she thinking sleeping with Adam? Getting married was keeping her word, which was very important to Helena, but sleeping with him was something else entirely. She really needed to get over this thing she had for the wrong type of guy. It got her in trouble more often than not.

It was the end of a patrol and Helena returned to her apartment. A drink, maybe a little reading and then bed.

Calling in the calvary @ 01:36 am

To say that leaving Helena by herself in Khandaq at the hands of Black Adam unsettled Barbara was a bit of an understatement. She hadn't stopped worrying about her teammate and friend since she had left with the rest of the Birds.

She didn't trust Black Adam. The fact that he just wanted Helena, and not the rest of them struck several nerves, and she wasn't just going to let Helena be stuck there at the mercy of someone that they didn't know all that much about.

The second she got back to Gotham, Barbara wheeled her way into her control room and fired up all her systems.

She could call the JLA, or Batman, even. But right now, she'd call someone that Helena trusted.

In a matter of minutes, Barbara got a secure comm line out to a certain hero in Star City.

"Arsenal, this is Oracle. Do you copy?"

Giving Thanks @ 05:12 pm

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." JFK

In America today is a day for being thankful for the things in people's lives. Today was a day to celebrate family, friends, prosperity and health with food, family and friends. It is a time to reflect on what is important us and to recognize the gratitude we hold for having those things in our lives.

Wild Night @ 02:03 pm

Lian was so happy to go spend the night with Dinah for 'Girls-Only' night that she almost forgot to hug and kiss Roy goodbye. He couldn't help but feel a little miffed at that, but it was good to see his daughter happy all the same. They'd spent a couple of months together, just the two of them; having his little girl feel smothered wasn't what he was shooting for.

He thought about hitting the streets tonight, but it was early yet and he was hungry. Lian had also refused his offer of dinner, since Dinah was making chili. So Roy drove home, changed into a black button-down shirt, some slacks and black dress shoes, and headed out to Top Gun Bar & Grill in Coast City. He loved the place and hadn't  been there since he returned to the States. Hal used to hang out there a lot as well, so Roy thought he might catch up with him there if he waited long enough.

Hal rarely left the bar without company and Roy had to admit that he wanted to watch the master at work again.

He parked his Ford Explorer and killed the engine, then got out and walked into the bar. Seeing a pool table open, he decides it wouldn't hurt to get his game back in gear, and starts racking the table. He orders a Coke  and some chicken wings to start, then gets to work on perfecting his shot.
