Into Crime Alley
The Green Arrow tread lightly in Gotham the night after news of the murder of the Artist hit the streets. He was a wanted criminal, but he couldn't let that top him from doing patrols around Gotham. He just had to be more sneaky about it. Keith was extremely sneaky in making his way to the meeting place with Robert. He was finally going to get to talk about things with a brother he never knew he had. Things with the Artist didn't seem so important anymore, now that he had a distraction keeping him going.

Merlyn's arrow inserted into the mandible of one of the mechanical spiders and hit a sorely placed, important device that usually kept it functioning properly. But the arrow caused the spider to malfunction.

Green Arrow's arrow exploded above another spider, totaling it and mildly damaging two other spiders.

Spyder Spyder was not pleased with what was happening. The two mildly damaged spiders were held back, while the rest of the fully functioning spiders got closer. Ten human-sized spiders leaped into the air in an attempt to land on Merlyn and Green Arrow.

Merlyn fires another arrow at one of the leaping spiders, then rolls backward, away from the oncoming horde to take momentary refuge behind an air conditioning unit.

"Green Arrow, this dance floor is getting a little crowded! What say we move this party to a different location? East of here two blocks, straight through the skylight. You take off first and I'll cover you." Merlyn calls out.

"Run!" Merlyn yells, standing up to fire a pair of taser arrows at two more of the spiders.

What kind of B-List "bad guy" used spiders in his crimes anyway? That question would plague Robert for the rest of the night.

Keith fired a few arrows at the leaping spiders before he ducked out and over to shelter.

"Got it!" he shouted back to Robert. He ran from the fight, firing off a taser arrow and a spider before breaking out into a full sprint in the opposite direction.

His ass was out of sight before long, and Keith hoped to see Robert soon. No, not hoped. He was sure his brother could manage.

The three taser arrows shocked the three spider targets. Admittedly, Spyder Spyder hadn't ever built his spiders with the Arrow family in mind. Taser arrows were unexpected, and the spiders' circuitry was overloaded. They shut down, leaving five spiders and an angry Spyder Spyder.

He directed his attention to Merlyn with the five front line spiders, and sent the two hanging in the back to where the Green Arrow was headed.

The five spiders by Merlyn each unleashed their flamethrowers on the air conditioning unit he was hiding behind.

Merlyn quickly finds himself getting hot under the collar as the spiders unleash their fire upon his hiding spot. He didn't know how well they could move /and/ fire, but Robert knows that he's got to take this chance before they can get to him.

He counts down from three in his head. At the count of one, he turns and breaks into a run, leaping at the edge of the roof to get to the next building. He stumbles, turns the move into an awkward shoulder-roll, then gets up and keeps running toward their destination.

	It takes a moment for the Spyder Spyder to properly have his spiders react. The fire stops coming out, and the spiders start following Merlyn after he recovers from the stumble. The two that were heading for the Green Arrow went offline, courtesy of a high powered sonic scream. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Merlyn keeps up the pace, glad now for all the hell Mother and Slade put him through when he was young. He does his best to catch up to Keith as quickly as he can so that they can plan their next move.

Merlyn's got an idea and two arrows that are perfect for the job, but Keith's got to be as good as Robert hopes he is.

He keeps running toward the warehouse, readying himself to move.

	Keith waited for Robert at the meeting spot. Two spiders were just scrap heaps nearby. He nocked a few arrows and fired them at the spiders following Robert. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Merlyn has to take a moment to catch his breath when he gets to Keith at the skylight of the warehouse.

"Okay, tonight, we combine a couple of goals. Drop down through this skylight, but don't linger. Turn left ninety degrees and head for the door. Once we're outside, we're going to have a little fun." Robert says, handing Keith an arrow.

"We just need to make sure we trap the rest of the spiders in the building. Got it?" he asks.

Robert wants to time this just right, because he wants the spiders to follow them into the warehouse.

"Get ready..." he says, watching the spiders get ever closer. As soon as they were on the roof with the Arrows, Merlyn looks to Green Arrow.

"Now!" he yells, and jumps backward through the glass of the skylight. The building is only a single story, but it's still a long drop.

Merlyn lands and drops into a roll to spread out the impact of the fall. When he can see that Keith is with him, he nods in the direction of the door.

"Let's move!" he says, pulling a small flare from one of his pockets and throwing it in the direction of the door. The little flare springs to life and illuminates the path to the door.

Merlyn waits for Keith to start running, then follows, covering his back.

	As much as Keith despises following orders, he's still pretty good at it. When his brother told him to jump, he jumped. His landing as eased out with an immediate roll. As soon as he got up to his feet, his eyes met with Robert's. He simply nodded, and Keith moved for the door. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Robert follows Keith, doing his best to keep a mental note of where the spiders are.

As soon as the Arrows are outside, Robert slams to the door to warehouse and runs for the opposite side of the street.

"Green Arrow, that arrow I gave you is a C-4 arrow. Snap the top and fire into the warehouse!" Merlyn says, pulling his own arrow and snapping the top, just as he described.

He'll fire his arrow directly at the highest warehouse window, hoping to take out the rest of the spiders all at once in the resulting explosion.

"And the Arrow brothers win." Merlyn whispers, a smile coming to his face as he watches the warehouse go up in flames.

"You've got some good moves, Arrow. You learned well from those that taught you." he says, offering his brother a genuine compliment.

"No time to rest on our laurels, though. We need to get you out of town tonight or someone is going to get lucky and take us both out by sun-up.

Get out of your gear and do what we talked about earlier. I'll be along soon to help out." he says.

	Keith took a deep breathe and let his bow rest. He wasn't used to criminals hunting him down. "Thanks," he said, scratching the back of his head. Robert was probably better than him, so the compliment was well received. "I'll see you later, Merlyn." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
