Settling In
The displaced Avengers had been taken back to the JLA headquarters and had been shown to quarters. Svalin may have stared at Jon a bit on the way back, but she looked away every time he looked at her or Vernique looked at both of them. There may have been some red on her cheeks when someone caught her looking at Jon.

Jon was familiar in a way, but Svalin couldn't place from where. It tickled at the back of her mind and would drive her crazy until she figured it out. For now she focused on what needed to be done.

Svalin dropped her belongings on the bed and pulled out her whet stone. She sat on the bed and started sharpening the edge of her sword. There was some time before they were to meet and discuss what was going to come next.

"Thou'rt welcome," she said and sheathed her sword. Svalin went through some of her belongings and when Vernique comes back out she'll find Svalin trying to decide what to wear.

"I'd go with the ivory blouse," Vernique suggests. "Why don't you go clean up, and we can get your hair out of the way?"

"It doth not matter what I wear," she said trying to make it look like she didn't care about what she wore. It was silly and something a warrior of Asgard should not concern herself about.

"Aye. I art going." One did not mess with Tiny Human Rage if one could help it.

The ivory blouse and those nice dress-slacks she'd gotten from alternate-Svalin's room would be laid out when she came out, and Vernique had her hair materials at the ready.

Svalin came out of the bathroom and felt better and clean. It struck her as odd that she had thought that it felt good to be clean. Spending so much time in Vernique's company was apparently starting to rub off on her.

She noticed there were clothes set out and they weren't her normal clothes. Though she didn't say a word and put them on anyway.

"I wilt miss showers when I art in Asgard. They art some of the nice things about Migard."

"Asgard ist not always cold like most think. Summers canst get quite warm."

Svalin looked at her reflection. The hairstyle was simple, yet elegant. "It ist lovely as always." Though Svalin did miss her braids. She hadn't worn them since after their fight with the vampires.

"Enter."

"Well, if you could find the right place to grow it, it'd be an interesting thing to try. I could see about buying up the plants for you."

She preens a little at her handiwork, then looks to the door.

"Sorry to bother you, ladies, but I simply wished to check upon you." Eli says. His hair is damp and tied back to keep it out of his face, but his clothing is clean and his beard has been trimmed, so he feels more human than he did before.

All of this helps to keep his mind off of Veronica, whom he misses dearly.

"Is everything well?" he asks, looking between them.

Vernique nods. "Yes, just fine. I really lucked out, getting shoved away from that lightning bolt. Not often the Big Bads target the butterfly chick. He must have feared my rage."

Eli favors both women with a warm smile.

"I am good." he says simply. "And I knew that there was something different about you, Svalin. Your hair is beautiful. I'm certain you will turn more than a few heads, if that is your wish." Eli smiles.

"Vernique's talents are endless. I do not think she will ever stop surprising us...or she will at least not stop giving us reasons to fear her Tiny Human Rage.

Someday, even our opponents may wise up to this." he beams.

A slight shade of red touched Svalin's cheeks. "Thank thee." Svalin nodded. "Vernique ist most adept at these things."

Svalin knew when three was a crowd and this was quickly turning into one of those situations.

"I must see to Tryggvi," she said and stood up. It wasn't the real reason she was leaving, but she couldn't admit to going to go look for Jon.

Eli did not need to read his friend's mind to know that Tryggvi was /not/ the reason she was leaving. He hadn't caught on to anything about Jon, but Svalin's demeanor was different, in a good way.

She had a very pretty smile when she allowed it to show.

"I didn't mean to interrupt girl-talk. I can come back later if needed." Eli says.

"Seems interesting. Simultaneously more dangerous and more.... a little more wholesome, maybe? I'm not sure."

She kisses him. "I'm kind of hoping we're here for a while. I've got a hunch we're really getting warm this time. Although it was a shame to have to leave our gorgeous alternate-children so soon."

Eli returns the kiss, having missed the intimacy he and Vernique had come to share during this trip. When they returned home, it was likely that such would not remain, but Eli wanted to enjoy it for the time they had.

"Yes, it was a shame. I miss Veronica a great deal. She was very fond of you, too. Apparently, we had some manner of business deal together that was very lucrative. Such would be nice to have when we return home, as I have no money of my own." Eli says.
