Atlantean Affairs
Arthur sat quietly and listened to the council debating...something. He honestly hadn't been paying attention to what was being said. It was a meeting of the Royal Council and he always had problems paying attention to the prattling on of the council members, but now it was worse. His heart and his head wasn't in anything right now.

He brought his focus back long enough to hear General Nakesh finish the report about the state of Atlantean military forces and their readiness. Something was building on the surface and Arthur didn't think it would stay confined to the surface.

Arthur nodded his thanks to Nakesh and looked to Ozell. Ozell was the current chairman of the council and ran the meetings. Hopefully this meeting was over.

"Things will be different and alike at the same time," he told her. "I do have faith in you, Ash and one day you'll have faith in yourself."

"If you need anything, please contact the Atlantean ambassador in New York. His name is Norstrud. He will have instructions to provide you with what you need or contact me in Poseidonis."

"I know you miss your home, Ash, but I am glad you are here."

She nods slowly. "It will be easier now that I'm closer to New York."

She blinked blearily at Arthur. She wasn't about to burst into tears but she was touched by what he was saying.

"Thank you."

"Of course, Ash." She looked like she was going to cry. Arthur wrapped his arms around her and hugged her.

Ash hugged him back. It was painful being so far from home. But it felt like things were changing.

It was getting better even if right now things were still raw.

"I need to get back to Atlantis," he said as he released her. "Things are in a state of upheaval right now and my presence is needed. I am not abandoning you, but I must do my duty as well. Call Norstrud if you need anything or need me."

It was so much better talking face to face. She understood things better. And at least this way he knew she was well.
