Memories Come Back to Haunt You
Traya was on monitor duty in the YJLA HQ, her helmet resting on the control console while she paid attention to the various broadcasts.

So much death and destruction in the world lately. So many heroes who had died. Superman. The Blue Beetle. Metamorpho. Cait. Cerdian. Jai.

It just seemed like the world was heading to hell in a hand basket. The darkness encroaching in.

But she couldn't believe that. Couldn't. They were the heroes. They always won. Good would always triumph over evil, so long as they held onto hope. Just like her dad always told her. No matter what happened, you kept right on trying until you got it right.

She leaned back and sighed. No major emergencies that required responding to since Gotham. Even with whatever was going on in Atlantis.

	Ronnie is struggling as well, fighting to keep coherent and in control. /Michael... he's trying to split the matrix. He thinks faster than we do - we're not going to get anywhere unless we work together./ he responds, trying to keep calm, wishing that he could be the junior mind again and have someone walking him through this, for once. /Hey, we're all guys here, right? We can all have a mature conversation on who gets Traya when. I'm okay with sharing!/ Jai says, looking around for the other guy who's supposed to be the brains of this operation.

The vibrations continue as Jai tries to undo the bonds between Michael and Ronnie bit by bit.

/I wonder what happens if you two don't split up just right. Think we could trip the light fantastic?/ he says, trying to get Ronnie's and Michael's shared concentration to slip.

Michael also put on a smile for the other man. His name, never clear before, was obvious now.

"Good to see you after talking with you so many times, Mr. Raymond. Not lets get this thing out of our minds."

"Let's" Ronnie agrees, letting Michael work on distracting Jai and keeping him occupied while Ronnie, the more experienced with transmuation and the matrix, works on rebuilding bonds, creating false ones to distract the Flashlet, and otherwise impede him with the matrix itself without being too obvious, trying to dull his fears and keep some optimism.

/What are you two doing?/ Jai spits, feeling a change in the energies around him. He doesn't know the first thing about the Firestorm Matrix, but he's always been of the impression that the Speed Force trumps all.

The vibrations should have torn both of these clowns apart by now...but instead, Jai can feel something is wrong.

He tries moving faster, attempting to tear them asunder as fast as Ronnie can make them, but he doesn't know that he's being corralled, tricked and played.

"Let's see what you got, Choi. Maybe this time you'll actually get me and not waste Traya through collateral damage." he sneers.

Michael, while not as skilled as Ronnie in the Matrix, still has skill enough to personally impede and throw off Jai until they can finally get rid of him. WILL "Now, Ronnie!" Now its time for veteran experience to pay off - Ronnie thinks back, getting an inspiration - Barnum. Manipulating the matrix, he finally opens what appears to be a weak point, something Jai can strike and break through, shatter utterly - play his trump card.

Specifically, the exit, just not making it obvious that's what it is until the doorway is broken. A second too late, he even does a bit of fancy transmuting to flash
'THIS WAY TO THE EGRESS'.

"Your wish is my command. Nice work, kid."
