A Royal Summons
Cait sat on the shore and watched the sunset over the Pacific. Hope and her pod had left the protection of the bay for awhile. Otherwise Cait would have been in the water playing with them like she did every day. Coming down here to see the dolphins had become part of her daily routine. She missed them, but she knew they would be back in a few days.

Right now, she figured, Daddy was having a royal fit. Actually, Cait was surprised he wasn't here demanding she return with him to Atlantis. The royal summons came two weeks ago and demanded that she present herself to the throne in a fortnight. Obviously Cait was not going to follow orders. Not until he stopped ordering her about like one of his subjects.

Mother had also sent something along with Daddy's summons. She had sent a copy of the Royal Atlantean Chronicles. At first Cait had wondered why her mother had sent them because Cait had always been forbidden from reading them, but after reading them she understood. Her mother was sending her a message and Cait had heard it.

By Poseidon's beard her family was insane.

The Chronicles read like an absurd piece of fiction and Cait had really wished they were fiction, but they weren't. If she ever mentioned the things in them to anyone they'd accuse her of making it all up.

Daddy was definitely going to have a fit.
