Mongul's Base:
There's a flash of green light, and the heroes arrive abruptly.

"Go!" the Green Lantern declares.

Henry almost doesn't notice what's going on. His father was blocked from being sensed by technology. It wasn't his own greed overpowering his will. He hadn't let his desire for the ring outshine his desire to find his father.

And with that, he understands. He understands what it is he's been fearing. And he knows what it is that the ring represents.

The ring is nothing more than an embodiment of his willpower. And willpower will lose to fear... only if he lets it.

He will not let Mongul harm his father. He will not let Mongul harm his friends.

With a loud cry, Henry sends his green energies outward, shattering the yellow hand crushing him. He rockets towards Mongul to shove him towards a wall before he can advance on Din.

"My friend," Henry answers Mongul. "And you don't get to hurt him."

He makes a note to thank Din later for his excellent timing.

Mongul is smashed aside by the force of the rush. With the momentary loss of concentration, the hand, and the projection coming towards Din fade.

Mongul rises with the same sadistic grin, however. "Very good. You're worth killing after all." he replies, lifting his ring hand, and sending out a shockwave of energy at Henry and Din, and all around him in general, totally ignoring the fact he incinerates a few parademons under the force of the blast.

Henry puts up a shield for both himself and Din. He's not going to let his friend get hurt.

He'll need to rely on Din to provide returning firepower.

Dinadan dials the power down a notch -- just a notch -- in the hopes of keeping a decent amount of firepower and getting the laser to recharge faster between shots.

He drops down to one knee to brace himself and returns fire.

He's better braced now, and has his shields. The laser makes them waver, but he doesn't move. "Now you two have gone from amusing to annoying."
He surrounds one fist with a yellow aura to empower his punches even more than usual, and slams a punch against the shield, then again, trying to wear down the shield, and through it, Henry.
"You're both going to die, but slowly and painfully."

Henry sweats, focusing his will on keeping up the shield against such a fierce combatant. The shield begins to crack, but it doesn't shatter yet...

"...Have... to... catch us... first..." Henry replies.

Dinadan cringes as the shield cracks and starts alternating firing the laser at Mongul with firing it at the ceiling above the villain; hoping to bring it down on his head long enough for Henry to get a breather.

He's glad he's already down on the floor because he's not sure that his legs would hold him at this point.

For a moment, the tactic seems to work brilliantly. The ceiling comes crashing down on Mongul, burying him in several tons of stone, and water begins leaking through cracks in the ceiling now.
The rubble pile shifts, and Mongul, enraged now, rises, hefting a few ton block of the stone, smashing it down at the shield.
