We meet again
This wasn't really up to her standards when it came to heists. And it wasn't a real heist. It was just that her employer needed her to get some things to trade on the black market for the cold hard cash he needed to get his little war started soon. He wanted to get Gotham back to being so dirty Detroit would look like it was clean. The metaphor was lost on someone like her who had spent much of her life in Europe and the Middle East.

She misses the desert on nights like these. She had thirty minutes until the security came around to check the vault. She had just enough time to get in and out.

In ten minutes she had gotten her prize and was quickly sailing over roof tops and around ally ways tearing like mad away from a successful job. This haul should please her Boss because it yielded a high pay out for them.

And now she senses trouble.

He lands right after her, hoping to close the distance a bit while on foot. Instead of running over trailers he decides to bypass it with a shot of the grappling gun so he can catch up, except somehow she's gotten ahead. That won't do. Especially after that flirty wave.

Time for some shortcuts. Robin disappears from view for a minute, aiming to head her off after the clock tower. Out of view he swings to higher ground hoping to drop down on her a few buildings down. It might not be his Gotham but doesn't mean he doesn't know it like the back of his hand.

She hadn't been able to help it. She thought he might catch her. He has the home team advantage after all. Still she is moving fast. As fast as she has been moving all night he can move even faster.

She doesn't see where he is but she has this sudden urge to avoid the clock tower so she turns and goes another way even if she won't have the advantage of height anymore.

Hmm she's changed course. Well good thing he's got scalloped Batman-cape his predecessors didn't. The wind's even on his side too. Time to fly.

Diving off the clock tower he signals his cape to go rigid and soon he's gliding over the rooftops.

It may be night already but soon there will be a shadow flying over a certain Fox.

Oh that is not fair at all!

Fox shoots a line off hoping to gain some distance. But a bad thing happens as she's about to land on the next building in her path a flock of pigeons comes flying in and throws her off just a bit. She sneezes from the dust from the birds as she lands then takes off at a run.

"Damn birds."

He doesn't particularly care about fairness, especially not if it means letting her get away.

"Did you mean me Foxy?" He's landed right in front of her with a smirk. He knows he's got her now.

Oh that has her surprised. He's good at this.

"No." She's still going to try backing away even if he has her caught she's not admitting it just yet.

"Maybe you should've meant me then," he lunges after her, aiming to grab or immobilize her just so he can trap her. He's not looking to hurt her, just stop her.

They roll with the tackle. She knows to go loose a little stiff in case he really does get a hold of her and she somehow ends up on top of him as they've tolled.

Except then she sees that they need to move as to not fall. She tries to get of of him but because she's trying to get away that may end up with him holding on tighter.

That doesn't go entirely as planned...skylight in the way. He's got her in a tight grip but rolls so that he's on the bottom and will take the brunt of the impact when the hit.

Except he overestimated the building's standards. The skylight breaks to bits as they crash through, still locked onto each other, him trying to prevent her from getting away and getting hurt in the fall, and her trying to escape his grasp.

She yelps and digs her fingers in. She never liked crashing or falling if he would just let go everything would be fine.

But there's no time. They land and she winces as shards of glass come down from where they crashed through. Again she tries to pull away because she doesn't like this at all.

If he let go then she'd get hurt more, at least this way he can control the fall.

The landing is a little rough and he lifts his cape over both of them to protect them from the falling glass. But doing so means he only has one arm to keep her under the cape and from escaping.

She had clung to brace herself against the fall. Then marveled at how much bigger he was than her because that had kept her mostly safe. His cape protected her too.

And now she pulls trying to get away. She had slipped out of his hold only to stumble and flop.

Shit. Her belt had gotten caught on his uniform.

His first thought is that the fall had somehow injured her enough to cause her to collapse.

Then he sees the real reason for her fall and tries not to laugh. And fails.

He takes the opportunity to pin her while she's on the ground and in between snickering he manages to get out, "You alright? Sorry can't let you go though I need your haul. Nothing personal, it's business."

She's frustrated and trying to get him off of her. The position she got stuck in has some of her gear on her belt digging into her side, especially with him pinning her.

She also knows because of their size differences that there is no way she can escape him. "I'm not hurt just embarrassed."

He's got her pinned well, and she's not getting out that easily.

"Well..." he swipes her haul away now and tucks it away, "you weren't going to get away even if that hadn't happened. Like I'd let you." The last part comes with a smug smirk.

Damn.

She knows other places she can steal from though. Nothing as nice but.... beggars can't be choosers. She'll just have to wait another day or two to throw him off her trail.

"If my belt hadn't gotten caught I could have gotten away," she growls. "You just got lucky."

"That's what they all say. 'I could've gotten away if it weren't for that meddling crimefighter'," he rolls his eyes.

"It's not luck if this is the second time. 2-0 Foxy. 3-0 if we count me beating you to the zoo."

Now he's thinking of what to do with her. Does he tie her up and leave her for the police? Does he bring her to a nearby station himself? She'll get out of both and...it feels weird handing over a thief like her to the police.

It's not like he's never caught thieves, but most were the amateur kind that had to use explosives to get safes open. Explosives. Ugh that was depressing, they couldn't even open it they had to blow it. But none of them had been any good, none of them were actually talented thieves.

"'2-0', the zoo was just a game," she says stiffly.

She shifts enough to get free just enough that she's not hurting her side from pressure and she can unhook herself from his uniform. She gets the impression though that he will pin her again if she really tries to escape.

And nope she's never used explosives to crack a safe.

"It's still in my favour. So, I assumed someone hired you for this job tonight. Doesn't seem like something challenging enough that you'd do on your own." He's basing this off where he saw her leaving from and knowledge of the level of security around the city. That place wouldn't be worth her time.

"So...want to give me a name?"

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Cake walk, yeah," she agrees. "Very low risk for someone of my skill level.... It's like going to the corner store for some eggs."

She smiles and shakes her head. "Sorry Boy Wonder, I can't do that. Part of my..... code."

"I can imagine. But sorry, it's in my code that I don't let you go just like that." He takes out a pair of handcuffs and casually spins them around his index finger, now using his weight to keep her pinned.

"So name or handcuffs." He raises an eyebrow and waits for her to choose. Because he's still not sure what he's going to do with her but he needs to move this along.

In fact she doesn't say another word she just completely shuts down.

That causes him to freeze and just blink. It wasn't supposed to go this way...she was supposed to struggle or give him a hint or flirt...not just give up.

He gives her an odd look, "Just like that? You're not going to try and get out? At least offer me a hint?" He's very confused right now, this has never happened before. Why protect an employer that much?

"No."

That's all she will give him. Her expression is flat and stony. No motion to give away why she's protecting her employer. Just guarding the name more than she will guard herself.

He throws his hands up in the air in frustration, "Oh for..."

She's protecting the employer's name too much. She's personally invested, this isn't professional. And he'll be damned if he's not going to find out who it is. If this guy can hire a thief like that and make them choose jail and potentially ending their career...then he's got something big he wants done and he knows what it takes to do it.

Robin cuffs her then gets up off her looking more annoyed and pissed than anything. "I'm not even going to call the police, you can get out of those on your own before they come anyway. I'm going to find out who you're working for because that right there is the most foolish attempt at disguising something under 'professionalism'."

He sounds mad, and he is pissed, but he's more disappointed than anything. He expected...more. She was good. Not mob thief good, freelance thief good. The type people hired for anything. He might not have seen her in action much but judging on their first encounter and how fast she opened that safe... This was just odd. His mother had said that you protected your employer because it was a job, but if it came down to you or them that you should get out of there because your employer wouldn't be protecting you.

This was just all wrong.
