A Lazy Sunday (Open)
It was Sunday and that meant that Maria didn't have to work at Wayne Enterprises and she even had the day off from dancing. She would go out on patrol at night, but while the sun was up she didn't have much to do. Winter had hit Gotham in full force and the temperature was barely into double digits so Maria was in sweats, heavy socks and had her hands wrapped around a mug of hot chocolate.

She was curled up on the couch watching the football game. Her cell was handy just in case something came up.

	"Seems like we're surrounded by people like that." "Well at least I can count on not getting the glare from you if you ever go digging for things I've done that I shouldn't." 	"Hey! I can do the tall part just fine, it's the intimidating part that doesn't work. Well, okay it works if they don't see me and I do a Batman imitation while looming in the shadows. "To what?" He tries not to sound annoyed and take his frustrations out on her, it wouldn't be fair. "I've spent my childhood training to be Robin, and then it was supposed to be that when I was older and good enough I'd be Batman. But that's all gone. I'm not going to be Batman, I'm lucky to even be allowed to be Robin." Thomas stops and glances at her apologetically, "Sorry. I shouldn't have said anything. Let's forget about it. Marshmallows?" He offers her the bag.

Thomas goes quiet for a moment, thinking how to word this, "No offense but...I mean I love Dick. But I don't want to be Nightwing. That's his thing, he carved it out for himself and..." He shrugs and doesn't say the next part, that he's spent enough of his life in his brother's shadow and continuing it would be too much.

"As for Batman, I'd love to but...I'm some alternate universe kid he met a few months ago who probably just reminds him of a woman he once cared about. I don't have any right to the cowl." He won't admit how much that part hurts. Turning to stare at the game he puts a blank expression on his face and continues, "...and I'm not good enough."

Thomas blinks at her, clearly taken aback. "...Thanks, that...means a lot. I'll...I'll look into it." There's a long pause as Thomas realizes how sick he is of being depressed about everything and tries to lighten up a little. "First thing I'd need to do is lose the sense of humour. Then get a rogues gallery with more women in spandex. Because you can't have a Batman who doesn't do the 'disapproving and making a point to look her in the eye' glare. Even he did fail at it on occasion," he smiles a bit.

"It's pretty close to one," he smiles. "And I'll...I'll try that." What an awkward conversation that'll be.

Thomas looks at her thoughtfully, debating whether he should ask the next question but figures he will, "You don't have to answer if you don't want to but...why Huntress? I mean, you could have been your own thing, even Nightwing or Bat...woman I guess. Why Huntress?"
