Night on the town
He had mentioned wanting to spend a night out with her. Something a little nicer and he planned on taking her dancing too. He had other things in mind but he wasn't going to say anything about that.

He had kept a few things close to his chest so to speak and really didn't want to say why he still had a slightly healing bruise on the underside of his jaw still. He wasn't going to say why until after he actually did propose. She'd probably yell a bit at him for going to meet her parents without him but he knew she couldn't be too upset. Or wouldn't.

He's nervous. He checks to see if his tie is still straight while he waits for Cat. He really better not screw this up.

Before another word could be exchanged between them, the entire entrance of the restaurant suddenly exploded, debris flying from a burst of green flame. A hand made or rock with green flamelike energy coursing between the cracks crept into the building, followed by a massive rocklike giant. Its footsteps caused the ground to shake as it scanned the room with an intelligence in its eyes.

	Mark had gotten all hopeful looking. Then suddenly? Monster. He shoots it the dirtiest look ever. "Looks like we'll have to take care of this before I get an answer," he says in a dry tone. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The monster suddenly turns its skull-like face to the pair, and then settles on Mark. "Heir of Nabu," it intoned in a deep monotone voice. It extends a hand. "Die." A burst of green flame shoots across the room toward the pair. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Damn it. He doesn't even think about it. He calls the helmet to him. Then uses a very basic shield spell to protect them from the flames. "You were sent here," he supplies after a moment. "Most unwise." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Cat's on her feet in an instant, ready in a fighting stance. She doesn't much care that she doesn't have any super-powers. She doesn't care that she's probably completely outmatched here. But this thing just ruined a magic moment. And she. is. pissed. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	It seems to study Mark, as if contemplating his statement. As if finding his threat wanting, both hands erupted with green flame and two beams of near-volcanic fire shoots at the pair. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Really? More fire? He takes his cape and as he spins the fire is redirected towards the cape and seems to be eaten by the cloth.. A few rings of smoke puff out lazily and Dr Fate tilts his head. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Despite seemingly being thwarted, the monster looked decidingly nonplussed. "Running is not an option." Then without warning the monster's body split into pieces. Every part was now a flaming rock floating in the air. And then..they began to fly speedily all over the restaurant. Everything in their path caught on fire. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Cat! Help the families with children get out," Dr Fate calls. "I must deal with the fire and this creature. I do not wish to endanger their lives." And he begins to cast another spell to snuff out the flames as the set things on fire. He was not going to allow people to be hurt. Not if he could stop it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Mark will find it to be something of an uphill battle. For while the flames burning the restaurant diminish and fade, the fire on the rocks didn't seem fazed.

Cat's blow's manage to redirect the the piece, though it didn't look damaged in any significant way.

As Mark focused on putting the flames out, a bunch of the pieces sped behind him, forming the shape of the beast's arm, and it's fist crashing down toward him.

	He knew that this was going to be dangerous. He knew that the fire on the rocks was more connected to the creature's life force. He feels movement and turns just in time to get caught in the side. He staggers back then throws his weight magically into blasting the fist. He has no elegance when he is annoyed. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The arm was sent backwards by the blast, but it soon broke apart again. Suddenly both arms reformed, one in a punching motion, the other firing a blast at the ceiling. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Dr Fate throws up a shield to protect the ceiling. If the roof goes up in flames he's sure there will be more trouble. He wrenches his back slightly when he is forced to duck out of the way of the fist and grunts in annoyance. He needs to end this fight. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The words came from the head of the creature, which seemed protecting by a wall of floating pieces. A new form was rebuilt as a leg that tries to stomp on him from above. 	He finally just rips the leg into pebbles with magic. "You put the innocents in danger." He begins to calls up more magic. "This I will not allow." He prepares a banishing spell deciding the plane of fire will suit this creature. He is not needlessly cruel. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
