Maria grabbed Alina's hand and dragged her up to the stage. The music started and it was the classic "Holding Out for a Hero", the original version.

Alina cracks up, covering her face with one hand while she grabs the second microphone with the other.

"If you've been talking to Uncle Paco, that's cheating!" she says over the rising music, shimmying at the appropriate point in the build.

"Why would I talk to your uncle?" Maria smirked before the song started. Maria of course had fun with the song. She loved karaoke and the alcohol she had drank wasn't even a factor.

Alina just laughs and shakes her head at Maria. She also hams it up for the audience -- while she's not anywhere near as good a singer as it turns out Jon is, she at least makes sure that the audience can tell she's having a good time.

That's what's really important about karaoke, right?

Jon cheers and claps for the girls as they sing, encouraging them on. The fun is the important part - especially since, as far as the singing goes, he's cheating, sort of. Damned Kryptonians.

Thomas would say damned kryptonians for other things they can cheat at, singing is by far the least of them. He claps in encouragement too (what? He could be nice) while sipping one of Maria's drinks in between.

Important thing about this karaoke was that while he was sulking, at least his bar tab was covered. Still, it was fun to swipe her stuff despite that.
