Not What YOU Might Call "Fun"...
It starts as a normal day at YJLA headquarters.

Most of the team is already present; there's a meeting due to start in about half an hour and a training session after. Only minor beeps and alerts are coming through over the computers, nothing that can't be taken care of by local law enforcement. Outside, it's sunny, and there are even birds chirping and twittering to each other. It's almost blissfully quiet.

Until, very suddenly, it's not.

There's a near-tangible shift to the atmosphere as a wave of something blooms from somewhere within YJLA headquarters and travels outward through the building. It passes through walls and furniture and people with equal ease, bringing darkness with it as the lights go out and electronics abruptly fail to function. Openings to the world outside of headquarters -- doors, windows, escape hatches -- are consumed by the walls around them, vanishing entirely in some cases or scarring over as if they were old wounds. The emergency generator hums to life for a moment before it too fails and plunges headquarters back into darkness.

A glowing fog begins to rise, barely enough to see by. It's purple, and parts of it glitter. Faint, abstracted laughter floats down the halls; and Alina's voice trails after it like a handful of ping-pong balls down a staircase:

"That's more fun."

The cabinet doors spring open as she kicks off of them, spraying forks after into the gaping maw of the dishwasher. The dishwasher, in turn, sprays irredescent soapy water out all over the kitchen, trying to douse all of the YJLA.

Alina is soaked, but entirely unconcerned. She absently swats at Avia's ankle. "Did you bring pie? I really want pie."

Jon hates to do this, but they have to stop her. And she's the one who got water spraying all over the place.

Jon exhales hard, redirecting the water with his breath, then focusing it to turn it to ice, trying to entrap Alina before she can get a new spell off, or just freeze her on general principle.

Avia leaped out of the way and back into the air as Jon did his trick.

Now she was wet and cold. Great.

But what she was really worried about was Alina. Who or what had done this?

Alina wrinkles her nose at the sheet of ice covering her body and pinning a large portion of her hair to the floor.

"If this is an invitation to talk bondage, mi cariƱo, I thought this wouldn't be a talk we had with the whole team refereeing." The ice on the floor around her crackles and breaks, and she floats upward and onto her feet, as delicately as a snowflake.

...And then immediately crashes to the floor again, shattering the ice and giggling like she's heard the world's best joke.

"Vertical is not happening today," she observes as the few soap bubbles that haven't popped or shattered turn into dead moths. Whatever she's doing, she doesn't seem to be casting spells -- not like she usually does, at any rate.

"What... what happens now? What do you do here when somebody's... magically unwell?"

"We have to... knock her out."

Sadly, no one present seems to be the ones with knock out darts or supernatural martial arts maneuvers. He could risk other means - but with Alina being, physiologically, human, his girlfriend, and possibly already under mental duress, he doesn't want to concuss her.

Leaving one option.

One option no one is going to let him live down.

And so, to all appearances, he scoops up his girlfriend and kisses her. In actuality, its a matter of reverse mouth-to-mouth, using Kryptonian super lungs and senses to precisely modulate exactly how much breath he's stealing from her, and being prepared, and in position, to reverse field and feed her oxygen again the second she goes out to not do any lasting harm.

But yeah... provided he pulls this off right, the boy of steel is going to kiss her unconscious.

Right after the bondage comment.

Lovely.

He pulls it off perfectly. There's a moment when it looks like Alina considers flailing, but all that happens is a brief shower of confetti. The light glowing out of her eyes snaps off like someone throwing a switch and she goes completely limp in his arms.

Then, like magic (ha!), everything is back to normal. The appliances are all back in their right places, the walls are normal, there isn't even water on the floor from the dishwasher. The only mess is a broken plate and the part of the toaster pastry that isn't smeared in Alina's hair.

And we have an awkwardly blushing big rock girl now.

Damn did Michael hate magic. A *lot*. Nor did he have words on that comment.

"...yeah, I got nothing."

"...Ugh. Much as I hate to suggest it--and please, no one tell him it was my idea--I think we're gonna have to call in Zachary Zatara for some magical know-how."

Speak of the devil, and the devil will appear. Every cellphone present abruptly rings, all receiving calls from the same number. As soon as at least three of them are answered, there's a flash of light, and Zachary Zatara appears roughly in the center of things, holding a notepad and a magic wand.

"Excellent... have to let the others know it worked like we theorized-- Oh. Well hello there children." Zach looks around at those assembled, and then at Alisa. "Oh... oh dear. Worse than a thought." He sighs and touches the bridge of his nose, the discarded notepad floating in midair as eh takes his hand away from it. "All right then... who wants to explain?"

Alina is his girlfriend. There's nothing Jon would like to do more than be there for her now, to try and stay with her. But he's also YJLA leader, and, well, a Kent.
He stands, moving towards Zachary.

"We're not sure. She occasionally has trouble with chaos surges, but this was far worse than any I'd witnessed. Chaos magic, somewhat at her direction, possessed the base. We made our way here, and things returned to normal, other than a lot being broken, when I knocked her out."
