AU Meme - A change in history
Her Royal Highness Princess Caitria of Atlantis had spent her whole life in Atlantis and this was the first time her father had allowed her to visit the surface. She had dreamed of visiting the surface one day, but Father had wanted her to wait until she was an adult. He was worried she wouldn't be able to protect herself, so Cait had spent years learning hand to hand combat and learning how to use her hydrokinetic powers. She knew Arthur had been a superhero and a member of the Justice League, Cait had no aspirations. She just wanted to learn more about the surface. She would have to deal with the surface dwellers once she became queen.

Today she was in San Francisco visiting the aquarium and attending a benefit for an environmental charity.

	Cait returned the bow. Father had spoken of New Morlaidh and Dinadan's father. Cait had learned about all the different countries on the surface and about all of the people her father had worked with over the years. "It is a pleasure to meet you Dinadan. "Yeah," Dinadan says, "that would be why I'm on this coast when my stomping grounds this side of the equator are in upstate New York."

He shrugs and elaborates before she can ask. "General assumption was that I was probably the best choice to come, since I'm used to doing the whole royalty-around-town thing. Plus, I'm apparently one of the 'safe' guys, which seems to have been another requirement." He shrugs again. "I'm probably not technically supposed to be telling you this, but whatever. We're both adults, or at least close to it."

"I guess when your skin and organs can handle the literal pressure of being deep underwater, most of the stuff that people up here could try and do to you is under-impressive," Dinadan muses. "The others are pretty normal, meta-powers and costumes aside. I don't know how many suck-ups you've got to deal with in Atlantis, but the cape-kid-crowd is pretty honest in-group, since they've got secret identities to take care of. It's a pain in the ass, from what I understand; if you'll pardon my Middle English."
