So a Redhead, an Asian, and two Aliens walk into a bowling alley...
"I'm telling you Lizzy," Petra munches away at her curly fries, just behind the seats for their lane, with an open line of sight to the lane she knew her little girl-friend would be on with... her boy. "--I don't trust him. No-one just meets someone else like that. He's gotta be some kind of pickup artist." She'd gone very light on the details prior to getting Lizzy along to run surveillance/security with her. She wanted unbiased responses.

Well, that was kind of nice.

Kim followed his directions and let the roll roll down the lane. It did fairly well, knocking down seven of the ten pins.

She jumped up and down and cheered. "I did it! I did it!"

Virgil grins and high-five's her. "Nice shot! Let's see if you can pick up the spare." Once the ball returns, he points to the arrows. "Try to get the ball to go down that way, instead of for the center again."

This, Kim reflected, was going to require some precise concentration. She rolled the ball carefully, and with actual more skill than it looked like, managed to knock over two of the three remaining pins.

"Oh," she said. "I guess I am not that good yet."

"Not sure. Have to ask J'onn, and that kind of gets into 'last of their species' uncomfortable conversations I'd rather avoid." Petra grimaces, sitting down to watch as Lizzy takes her turn.

"Could be working a slower con. I'm staking them out for the whole date."

"Don't worry, it gets easier." He smiles and gives her a pat on the shoulder, along with a wink. "I'll help you as much as you want."

Virgil takes up his own ball and sends it down the lane, the nine and ten pins remain after the initial throw, but he picks them up easily enough for the spare.

She took another approach, letting the ball fly. This time, she got a strike.

"Good job!" Virgil grins, delighted at her success, and gives her a hug. He then becomes aware of how nice she smells again, and backs away abruptly. "Uh, sorry..."

Kim started to hug him back, feeling her head on his firm chest, but then blushed when they broke away.

Somewhat distracted now, he botches the spare this time around, muttering to himself afterwards.

Oh, this had suddenly gotten very very complicated. This was where it always got very awkward on the TV shows.

A few frames later, Virgil is still picking up mostly spares, with two strikes as well. "Are you having a good time?" He smiles happily at Kim. This dating business was much less fraught with peril than he'd been lead to believe. No sinister rivals from Kim's school had shown up, nor had any friends of his needed bailing out from crazy schemes.

"Oh, very much," Kim said. She had been doing well, but merely well. Not the super-well she could probably be doing. Trying to be merely human was difficult sometimes.

Sadly, though, no one had broken out into song. That was very disappointing.

She began her approach for the next frame.

He's interrupted as a passerby lets out a wolf-whistle as Kim bends over. Virgil abruptly turns around, administering his best glare.
