"Drinks are on me tonight," Maria said as she leaned back in the chair after grabbing some pretzels from the bowl in the middle of the table. She needed a night to kick back and relax with some female company. So of course she invited Cat. Cat was one of the few of her female friends who could keep up, probably pass for that matter, Maria in drinks. Not to mention she needed the company of a female who has had some of the same life experiences as Maria. Alina and Dinah were good friends, but they weren't ones to walk on the wild side of life.

	Maria laughed. "Before I get too drunk I need to ask. Have you ever liked someone and not like them at the same time?" Maria still didn't know what the hell to do about Tomas. "It's complicated," Maria said. "But I'll try to explain. I met this guy and I like him. Hell, I've slept with him more than once and for me that's saying something. Like me he wears a mask and well let's just say that when we were working we didn't get along. Of course we didn't know who each other really was, but eventually we did. Now...I don't know. Is it possible to like someone out of costume, but not like them in costume even though they're the same person?"

Maria shook her head. "No. Who he is is complicated too. Bruce would not approve and I'm surprised I haven't heard anything from him."

"Hey. I'm not different when I'm working," Maria said. "Of course I'm the exception to a lot of things." Like having a sense of humor and being a member of the Bat Family.

Maria did a shot of tequila. "I haven't seen him in awhile and I'm trying not to, but I can't stop thinking about him. In and out of costume."

	"Not a super-villain," she said. "I think." Just the son of Lady Shiva. That was complicated in spades. "His methods are a lot more direct and effective as in permanently taking care of a problem. 	"Di, I can see getting married. You? Would have never in a million years thought you'd be getting married. If you're happy, I say go for it." A part of Maria envied Di and Cat.
