A surprise visit!
"Knock, knock! Anyone home in here?" Alex Rice-Matthews calls as he steps into the HQ of the Justice Society of America. Now, it's not strange that he does so. The kid spent a lot of time growing up there, is the grandchild of a founder, and the son of a former member. He's been there a lot.

What is different is the red and green uniform he's got on complete with his grandfather's logo on his chest. And the bright green ring on his finger. He's been doing his best to keep the fact that Grandpa Alan gave him his ring secret, wanting to surprise everyone. And now he's ready to reveal it, confident he's been training hard enough.

"Don't tell me everyone rushed out without me," he laughs and he closes the door behind him and looks around.

	Alex laughs and shakes his head. "I will be asking them for their testimony," he teases. "Mostly? So what happen, they walk in on you in the shower and cue the destruction of the plumbing?" he guesses. There's a pause. 	"Well, the short answer is the same for both questions. I'm not from this dimension. When I crossed from my home, it was into the Brownstone's bathroom. 	The Green Lantern laughs. "Should have guessed it was that one. Oh well, guess I'll look for somewhere else to vacation," he laughs. Alex starts to say something but pauses. "Yeah...definitely don't want my aunt and uncle showing up right now. Or my dad for that matter," he says, quick shiver running up his spine.

"Right, hold still then," he says, holding his hand towards Steve. The ring flashes and sends a thin green beam towards Steve. With a quick flash, Steve'll end up in green jeans and a t-shirt with a lightning bolt logo. Alex smiles and lowers his hand. "There ya go. Just don't get too far away or it'll be right back to the ducks."

	With a smirk and another flash from the ring, Alex adds a replica of Mr. Garrick's hat to Steve's head. It's green like the rest but otherwise looks the part. "Well once they see me with the ring there won't be too many questions. Except maybe asking why I was putting cloths on ya instead of off," he jokes, in a pretty good mood. He tips the hat, quite pleased with it, obviously, and not missing a beat. "I should have known, with the snappy fashion sense. Afraid your cousin is more my type, but I'll still buy the pizza and soda if you can give me some dirt on your cousin, or maybe Wendi? Well, when I find a source of income, anyway. Wonder if Mom and Dad will agree they owe me a lot of back allowance?"

"With great power comes great cockblocking? Geez, I hope not." he snorts, glad dad and mom aren't about to hear that.
"Oh, its pretty simple... and yet not. I'm the kid Jay and Joan Garrick adopted who died of pneumonia ages ago. Except due to some unknown, maybe exposure to Dad, I entered the speed force. All of my memories are actually 'could have beens' and 'maybes' of what would have happened if I'd lived. The speed force touches on all times, after all. Except the only people who weren't shadowy images and phantoms in the memories are people who touch the speed force. And for every event, I have anywhere from three to five dozen memories of what could have happened to sort through to see what I do or don't know. Like I said, its weird. I've been through school a dozen times, basically, but if someone isn't a Flash or Quick, I probably don't know them."

Alex laughs again. "Sadly, yeah," he remarks. "You'd be amazed how often an emergency or something weird pops up just as you're gaining ground," he muses with a shake of his head.

The young man goes quiet to listen and nods. He lets out a thoughtful noise and then a shrug. "Flash stuff always is complicated but hey, what in our circles isn't," he laughs. "Don't worry about it all. Weird stuff like that happens all the time."
