The Battle of Atlantis
Oceanus and his wife Tethys approached the domed city of Poseidonis. The world's oceans were once under their rule and would be once again. The usurpers, Poseidon and his followers, would be driven out and Oceanus would once again claim what was rightfully his.

Tethys was next to her husband as they approached the domed city. Poseidon's rule over the oceans would end and his mortal worshipers would properly be worshiping Tethys and Oceanus. The Titans would once again take their rightful places.

The two walked confidently up to the gates of the city.

He calls for her, reaches for her. With all the power at his disposal, all the magic, all the strength, all the energy. The ring manifests, the Trident manifests, the bow and arrows, the swords. A wave of psychic energy demolishes his workshop, leveling everything within, and then the ruins are ravaged and burned by the power of the Godwave. Time slows, stretches a nanosecond into precious, fleeting moments, seeking something, anything that will find her voice.

And its not enough.
Not nearly enough.
He has the strength of gods. He can bend time and space to his will. He has the minds of geniuses and brilliant madmen, and every stray thought and awareness is available for his recall.
He can level mountains, he has stood toe to toe with a thing older than the gods.

And yet, as the smoke and dust rises around him, its all destruction. Cait is gone. His love is gone. His heart is go...

His eyes close. His hands shake. Its washing over him, and for once, there is no strength left in him to fight it. An intense, terrible cold comes over him, and at first, it just feels like loss. And then... there's something else.

His eyes shift from blank white... to jet black. His right hand twists, the bones becoming more prominent, dark grey muscles stretched over the bones like something dried and dead, and yet he feels an incredible strength within it, and a voice in his head.

Tyler Darnell of Earth...RISE.

He lifts up from where he collapsed, then floats in the air a moment. Blank eyes survey his workshop, all he'd devoted so much time to, and finds it meaningless. Only two things matter now... his love is dead... and he knows who killed her.

With a wave of violet energy, he teleports to Atlantis, floating over Cait's body.

"Oceanus... I would have words."

Oceanus ignored AJ, because he could. His shell of hard water became thicker; stronger. And Oceanus focused on Ty, who radiated with power and rage. His eyes were black holes. His right hand was twisted and looked of death. But Oceanus did not falter at the sight. He frowned, yes--as would all who saw yet another had come to oppose them from taking back what was rightfully theirs.

"Boy, you had spoken your last words." And so Oceanus mustered his strength, still high off of the rage he felt when Tethys was murdered, and constructed a volley of hard water spears speeding at Ty. He watched for the result from the safety (or so he thought) of his hard water shell.

The trident manifests in Ty's left hand. He gestures with it, and the water slows and warps as it approaches him. Ocean Master's power isn't enough to stop the spears, but it slows some of them. As the rest approach, Black Adam's invulnerability is bolstered by a grey, rocky shell. Then a faint yellow barrier surrounds that. For a moment he disappears in a churn and boil of water as the spears strike, but when it clears, he's not hurt. Indeed, he hasn't so much as shifted an inch.

Those soulless eyes blink once, then narrow as he considers Oceanus.
Rage
Greed
Love

"You have lost someone dear to you... someone you possessed..." His voice softens. "Don't worry, Titan... I have come to spare you this terrible, endless pain. And I shall restore her to you."

He gestures with his right hand, then curls it into a fist.
"What was lost shall be restored... dear fallen... come and embrace your lover...Tethys of the Titanomachy...RISE."

	Tethys' eyes opened and she slowly climbed to her feet. There was a huge gaping hole in her abdomen and chest from having been blown apart from the inside out. Jagged pieces of ribs were exposed along with the spinal column. She walked over to Oceanus and wrapped her arms around her husband. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Doe-eyed and in complete shock, Oceanus watched as his wife came to him. Her ribs were displayed clearly, but he was looking beyond her obvious appearance. His wife was coming back to him. As she wrapped her arms around him, he wrapped his own around her. For the moment, he had forgotten all intention of reclaiming his place in the seas.

"Tethys, darling..."

Ty smiles, but there's no humor, or even any identifiable human emotion in it.

LOVE

There's a telekinetic wave, sweeping the others back and shielding the area. This is not their time.

"Reunions are so touching. Ah, but there's one more here for you... its been many centuries, millennia really, but what is time to you? Surely you recall Zeus' power when you were banished? No?."

"Well then...

SHAZAM!"

Oceanus was almost to the point of ignoring Ty completely, but he caught mention of Zeus. Just then, he snapped back into the reality of what was happening. He took another look at Tethys before Ty finished talking, and he struggled to break free of her grasp. He finally managed to throw Tethys off of himself, but there was no time left to escape what was to come.

"GGYYYAAAAAAHHH!!!"

Crippled, Oceanus remained still. His body twitched as he regained regular control of himself. His brow furrowed deeply, and he felt more rage than anything he had ever felt before. Through his heavy breathing, he spoke, "Boy... You will...pay..."

"Oh, he will. When this is over, he will feel loss and pain and anger and regret. But this is not over... not for him, not yet. That day will come. But you, Titan... what is that I see in your eyes?"

FEAR

"Ah yes. But don't worry, Titan... I give you permission to rest now. The greatest of gifts, no more loss, no more anger, no more fear. I give you a gift bestowed on few immortals... for you may be one of the fathers of gods, but what is that before death?"

Time bends with Zoom's power and Deathstroke's skill and accuracy. Ty barely seems to move. A moment later, however, there's a heart in his hand, rapidly withering in his grip, a soft hiss rising from it through the water, sounding vaguely like "Flllsssshhhh."

"Sleep now, Oceanus. I give you, and Atlantis... peace."

Oceanus could not react to save himself, and the last thing he saw was his own heart withering in the grasp of a child. He could not speak, and the light in his eyes faded within seconds. His skin went paler than it already was, and his grew tighter on his bones. And then, finally, his body falls to the ocean floor. Oceanus was no more.
