Family Reunion (open to Atlanteans) @ 10:31 pm
dc_parent:
Arthur walked through the ruins of Poseidonis. The jewel of Atlantis lay mostly in ruins and was now floating on the surface of the ocean. Her sister city of Tritonis was in ruins on the ocean floor. Arthur's kingdom was in ruins, but the people were alive. They would rebuild and Atlantis would flourish again. Arthur would spend the rest of his life making sure of that. He looked around at the ruins of the city and the people moving about. Arthur already had the council on his back for a meeting, but he told them it could wait. He had to make sure his people were provided for first. A good majority of the newly resurrected citizens had been evacuated to Cerdia, but even Cerdia couldn't hold all of the citizens of Poseidonis. Personnel essential to rebuilding were here now and ready to get started. Arthur looked over at Mera and smiled. No matter what happened they'd get through it together. His gaze wandered and fell on Ash. Arthur had heard she had assumed the throne and with Garth's help led the surviving people of Atlantis to safety in a remote area away from the two ruined cities. When word that the dead had been restored to life, Garth and Ash led the people back to Poseidonis and they had just arrived. Mera. Garth. Dolphin. Cerdian. Ash. Just one person was missing from his family. Cait. Thoughts of his daughter added some weight to his shoulders. He had to find her and see if she had been brought back. He couldn't imagine having to go through the rest of his life without her in it.

Fallen Son (Two Days after the Battle with the League) @ 11:45 pm
dc_parent:
Garth of Atlantis woke with a start, looking about the room he shares with his wife in Atlantis. Normally, he sleeps well and fitfully, but early this morning, the shadows have taken on a different cast. They seem deeper, darker than usual. He's not certain what is wrong today, but he doesn't wish to disturb his wife with his misgivings. He wishes Cerdian were here, to ask his opinion. The boy had come a long way from the shy, uncertain youth into a deeply thinking and feeling young man who stood by his friends and was loyal to his king and kingdom. In short, everything a father could ask for in a son. Sliding out of bed, Garth goes to begin his daily rituals, working a few wards that he wants to teach Cerdian the next time he's home. He needs to remind him to spend more time with his mother. She worries so much for their son at times that it takes him back to the days when he was just a baby and she refused to put him down. Their discussions over it were legendary. "You'll unman him if you don't let him stand on his own, Dolphin." "He's a baby, Garth. Besides, I know he's safest when he's in our arms. There will be plenty of time for him stand on his own." she told him. A knock on the door breaks Garth's concentration. Messengers never come this early, unless King Orin needs him. Orin has called for him less since Caitria's passing, and Garth isn't sure what to do about that. He cannot say that he knows how Arthur feels, but he wishes to help his friend. He rises and answers the door, greeting the messenger with a smile. The young man hands him a parchment and bows, leaving Garth to read the note in private.
As he reads the missive from Dick Grayson, one of his oldest friends, Garth feels his knees weaken, then give out from under him completely. He tries to speak, but the only thing that escapes him is a series of loud, wracking sobs that echoes through the house.
Ironically, he now understands /exactly/ how his king feels.

Things We Leave Behind (open to Titans) @ 01:38 am
dc_parent:
It wasn't exactly the sort of thing Dolphin enjoyed doing, or ever wanted to do, but someone had to gather up Caitria's belongings and give them to Arthur. The Titans wouldn't keep her things forever and Dolphin didn't want to see them get thrown out. They were what was left of Princess Little Fish as Cerdian liked to call Cait. Arthur was in no shape to do it. To say that Dolphin was worried about her long time friend, her king and the man who was once a lover, was an understatement. Arthur had lost his son, his wife and his daughter and looked like a man about to fall into the abyss. Dolphin knew that if given the chance Arthur would follow them into the grave. Dolphin placed the last of the books in one of the three boxes. Cait hadn't been one to have many possessions and all of hers from her time on the surface had fit into three boxes. Her clothes had been bagged up and donated to Goodwill. The books and other small items would be stored until Arthur decided what to do with them. If he ever did. Dolphin wasn't surprised to find that most of Cait's possessions were books. She was more like Arthur than the two of them cared to admit. Both loved to read and learn, which is why Dolphin understood Cait's desire to be on the surface. There was so much more to see, do and learn than in Atlantis. Arthur never understood and it caused so many problems between father and daughter. Dolphin looked around. The room was bare and all clothes and possessions had been bagged and boxed up. Except for the one item Dolphin didn't know what to do with. It was a statue of a dolphin playing on the waves. Dolphin had initially thought it had been made out of crystal, but when she took a closer look at it she discovered it had been made out of ice. Somehow it was not melting. The craftsmanship was exquisite and the details were amazing. It was so life like that she almost expected the thing to start moving. It was a very Cait item and Dolphin guessed it had been a gift. Maybe one of the Titans had given it to her and would like it back to remember Cait by. Dolphin went to see who was around.

The Battle of Atlantis @ 05:02 pm
dc_titansofmyth:
Oceanus and his wife Tethys approached the domed city of Poseidonis. The world's oceans were once under their rule and would be once again. The usurpers, Poseidon and his followers, would be driven out and Oceanus would once again claim what was rightfully his. Tethys was next to her husband as they approached the domed city. Poseidon's rule over the oceans would end and his mortal worshipers would properly be worshiping Tethys and Oceanus. The Titans would once again take their rightful places. The two walked confidently up to the gates of the city.

A Talk @ 08:01 pm
violettidemage:
Immediately following the meeting with the other avatars, Cerdian attempted to speak to Jai, but the younger man almost literally vanished into thin air. Upon recognizing where Jai was headed before the battle, Cerdian couldn't fault him. He envied Jai's finding of someone he loved and who loved him in return. Cerdian had never experienced that in his young life and knew now that he never would. It was sobering, but there was little time to dwell upon it. He had others to speak with before too long. Leaving the Justice League headquarters, Cerdian bent the space between worlds and found himself at the front door to the West household. Dispelling his staff and creating normal clothing, rather than his robes, he walked to the door and knocked.
