For just once in her life, Nala wished that her everyday life could be simple and not be interrupted by some villainous plots.  She was in the middle of a fashion show, wearing a very expensive dress, and then suddenly there was gunfire and screaming.  Normally, this was some kind of plot device to capture the leading lady.  But Nala wasn't you typical leading lady, and these thugs didn't stick around very long.  It seemed like the ruckus in the main room was just a distraction to keep everybody from noticing the theft happening in the changing room.  They were lucky Nala wasn't in the changing room, but they were also unlucky that Nala was there in the first place.  And they were unlucky that they made Nala rip her dress, which she was going to have to pay for later.

She had already tracked them down to some run down warehouse.  Nala didn't even know they had those in Paris, to be quite honest.  But that didn't stop her from sneaking in there and getting to business.  By the time anybody else would show up, she'd already laid them all out on the ground.

Well at least they weren't always locked into some stupid mission. How he hated this Suicide Squad stuff, even worse knowing that he couldn't get out of it as long as they had Terry. But they let him go back to Boston occasionally to deal with his business, which was still struggling but still alive. He was outside at the moment, walking down the streets in a slightly better mood than usual. Anything that got him out of the government's grips made him feel better.

At least it was daytime this time.  When it came to Gotham City, Nala was usually only active at night and ran into the more unsavory characters scattered about the city (or she was walking the runway with this season's latest fashions, of course).  And to be honest, it seemed like Gotham City was stuck in a perpetual nighttime.  On the rare occasion that Nala spent her day out in the city, it was usually with a friend that was local.  Not surprisingly, today was no different.  She had decided to meet up with her friend Joy Drake for lunch, and then some shopping afterwards.  Nala was particularly excited for the shopping, because there were a few earrings she'd spotted on the walk to Panera Bread that she wanted desperately.

Things had been fairly quiet, lately. Almost too quiet, for Layla's tastes. She was getting a little restless, and restless wasn't a state that she handled very well. Or at all, for that matter.

So, she decided to go a patrol around the city after she got off of work. If she couldn't find any skulls to bash in, she'd head back to the Brownstone and fire up the training simulator.

Hawkgirl flew over the city, her mace held firmly by her side, her eyes peeled for anything. So far, nothing.

She'd give it about another hour or so before heading back to the Brownstone for bashing simulator robots.

...And pie. Maybe.
