For some, new beginnings. For others, Wednesday
Place: The Desert outside of time, near the kitchen
Time: outside of time. Do read more carefully. Possibly Wednesday

The Exiles are pulled out of the world before they're allowed to do any more damage. Everyone else forgets all but the new timeline. Some things, some people, never existed. But the Exiles remember - just like always.

They're greeted by the smell of fresh brewed coffee, fresh baked blueberry muffins, and a 20' fall, since they appear well above the desert floor.

Given that they've been here before, and there's only one place to go, the Timebroker assumes they'll be along eventually, while he tends to the baking.

Sarah does her best to grab for anyone who doesn't appear able to fly, then sets down, limping towards the little kitchen. She's a mess, but knows they don't end up here if its not important.

Gwenny, bruised and grubby and still in shock from being on the front lines amongst so much death, follows.

Quinn is hobbling behind them. There's not one part of his body that doesn't hurt. He just kept walking and hoped there was a beer or something harder.

Quinn is back on Exiles road, which means the curse has kicked back in. No beer, nothing harder.

But there is coffee and very small desks.

Gwenny will sit down and start throwing back coffee and muffins like an alcoholic with whiskey.

Dory doesn't even bother with the desks. He folds himself down to a sitting position on the floor near Gwenny's chosen desk, snagging half a dozen muffins on the way down. Hey, he needs to get the raw materials to heal up from somewhere.

Sarah sets her weapons down and slumps into a desk, glad she's still skinny enough to fit, then sort of leans. She's usually alert and at attention, but the losses and weeks of constant war have her worn down.

"I know you're all familiar with the drill. And, while I know you understand the importance of what you're doing, I wanted to apologize. That was... something of an emergency situation.

I also have some bad news for a couple of you. Things you may well discover eventually, especially given your past ties to one of those worlds... which have largely been severed. While some might think it cruel, I thought it best you be aware of it now, rather than as a rude shock later, when stumbled onto accidentally."

Quinn slid into a desk. "You're just a fount of bad news," he grumbled.

"Not intentional, I assure you, Mr. Braddock. But since you've spoken up, you're first.

The timeline in those worlds has changed. Specifically - none of you were ever there. Steps have been taken to assure certain events didn't occur as they might have without your assistance... however, no one will remember you, and aside from in your memories, none of it occurred, aside from a brief encounter during the Avengers' travels through time... and even those have been altered.

In your case, Mr. Braddock, Casey, Joe, Leech and the rest... never met you. You never drank any of those beers, you never slept with any of those women... you don't have any phone numbers in your little black book.

There are two remnants... the first being, the fae are otherworldly beings, who don't necessarily always follow all the rules. You upset the leprechauns... you bear a curse... while you're more powerful within the British Isles, its true, any time you're in Ireland, your luck will be far, far worse than normal in almost every imaginable way.

The second issue... Mad Jim Jeffers was not a being of that world entirely. He is a mutant of universe spanning power. His memory of you was erased... but one of his creations remembers you, and thus, in his dreams, so does he. Eventually, he... and the White Queen, will seek you out across all time and dimensions."

"Dammit. Though I suppose it means I never got married. Not all bad."

Quinn paled at the last two bits of the news. "Oh bloody hell."

"Indeed. And, of course, because you were never in that world, and the timeline still has need of you... welcome back to Exiles' Road. I'm afraid that you're going to be stuck with it a long time.

You see, while your world was largely saved, if you return there, Mad Jim Jeffers will eventually find you there, and destroy your reality... so this time around, your choice is to know your world is out there, safe, but without you... and continue to aid the Exiles... or return home, celebrate for a time, and doom your world to a fate where it is ruled by Jeffers perceptions... one of which is that his fictional character is your perfect match."

"Unfortunately, that is not the opinion of the godlike mutant with reality manipulation powers. Thankfully, not time manipulation, therefore, he is unlikely to easily be able to find you this way. Settle into one universe, however, and until he's dealt with, you risk that entire universe... which threatens the timeline.

Additionally... you weren't the only one with ties to that universe as it was."

He looks to Sarah. "You never met Anya Stark. She became the Lady Mandarin until other powers were able to do something about it. Temujin is whole and healthy. Everything you've done in that universe... never happened. I've taken unusually personal steps to make sure someone was there to save her life... but that was all I could do. Your best friend since your world ended doesn't know you, and never did.

Additionally... Molly Hayes never met you. She saw her parents' example, and then the death of one of her team... and never became a super heroine. All of those moments never occurred. She lives... but she doesn't know you exist, and never did."

"So what happens now?" She asks the Timebroker.

"I'm sending you to a tropical island to heal your injuries. Not many luxuries, not much else in the world, but there's food, water and abandoned huts. That will give me time to try and find you some help while the timeline heals. After two weeks, whether you have help or not, ready or not... you're back to work, kids."
