Asgardian Gethsemene, Part 1.
When the Exiles materialize in their next location, they have a lot of new company in the middle of a rock-strewn, windy field. In the distance, there is a building with a slanted, thatched roof. It is the only building in the immediate vicinity, though those with sharp eyes may see various small structures even further in the distance.

And it is at this point that a few figures come out of the building and head towards them. The two foremost are an apparent silver werewolf in half-form and what might initially look like a fairly short man -- until one realizes it's a fairly tall dwarf.

There are general looks of confusion as the two come quickly towards the group, but the dwarf soon calls out, smiling at Sarah in a friendly fashion "Irene! We didst not think thou wert coming! Who hast --" At this point, the tall dwarf stops short with even more confusion on his face. "...Mjolnir?"
The wolf is staring at Sarah and sniffing the air. "That ist... not Irene."

"No, I'm not. Sarah Rogers... but you got the hammer right. Can you tell us where we are?" No hostility to start with. It wouldn't have been the first time they got attacked right out of the gate - but this is always easier.

"And who you are?"

"Bit of a crossroads," the dwarf says. "East of Nidavillir, West of the Forest, south of Asgard itself." He's still looking fairly incredulously at the hammer. "Where is he?"

"Manners, cousin," says the wolf, nodding to introduce himself. "Robert Hrimharisson, Prince of the Forest."

"Of course. Eitri Guthrie, King of the Dwarves."

Asgard. And they don't know where Thor is... that's problematic.

"I'm afraid I don't know. None of us is from around here. But hopefully being able to carry the hammer will help reassure you I'm here to help. How long has Thor been missing?"

"Asgard? Shit, this is more magic stuff isn't?" Jason shrugged, trying to appear nonthreatening. "Oh well, least there's no demons."

Jubilee's ears prick up. "Okay, I recognized the Guthrie, Asgard, and Hrimhari parts in there--" She gets out the last name a bit awkwardly "--but the rest of it's throwing me a bit."

"We're totally down the rabbit hole on this one," Liv said. Rogers. Liv wondered if the girl was a relative of Uncle Steve's.

"Great we're in Asgard and we are supposed to hold sometime," Nate says mostly to himself, "Sound like a walk in the park."

"So what's going on around here anyways?"

At Sarah's explanation and question, the Wolf prince speaks. "Aye, 'tis reassuring. And they never said 'missing' when I was a pup, just 'busy.' Ororo ruled Asgard while Thor was 'busy.' He would return to the Golden Realm from time to time, always weary. Less and less as the years went on, even as Ororo grows older. He has not been seen in ... four springs? Five?"

At Jason's question, the young dwarf king looks at him with a slightly distressed expression. His hand touches the pickaxe strapped to his back, but only to tap the wooden handle distinctly. There are some things one just doesn't assume, especially out loud.
Then at Jubilee. "Aye, aye, 'Robert' ist an odd name, but 'tis after one of the honored dead; no need to give him trouble about it."

" Going on?" Robert then addresses Nate. "'Twas either a friendly drink between cousins at rest from their responsibilities, or a very small and confused council of war. We art not sure yet."

Dory's relieved when Eitri Guthri and Robert Hrimharisson cut through the unnecessary chatter that the reality-hopping side of this conversation is doing. He can't really blame the new recruits, they're still adjusting to the situation and he doesn't know their backgrounds yet; but it's still embarrassing to be addressed as "confused".

He's going to have to have a talk with them all later, when it's not going to make them look even more fractured and confused.

"Dorian Valentine," he introduces himself, bowing respectfully to Eitri and Robert; calculating in his head the appropriate degree to which he should bend (as a visiting dignitary, not an emperor) to both. "Sarah can explain our purpose here more coherently than any of the rest of us, but in my short experience on this journey, preparations for something more in line with the latter aren't likely to go amiss."

He has a sinking feeling that Thor's extended absence and the Tallus' one-word instruction are connected somehow.

Liv recognized some of the names from the Avengers' files, but had never met any of them except for Thor. Even then that was just once.

"Missing? Wait... why is Ororo in charge?" Because, awesome as her friend's mother could be, that had to be waaaay down the line of succession. And why are the X-Men there anyway?

"You know, never mind. We're dimension travelers. We get sent to places something really bad is about to happen. Can you take us back to Asgard, and we can figure out the situation with Ororo and whoever is left of the old guard, so we only need to do this once? Whatever is going on, we're here to help."

"And trust me. You've got some serious help here. Even as one of the new kids, I can tell a good team when I see one." Jubilee grins. "So let's get this moving and talk to your boss' bosses."

Mostly to herself, "Huh... guess Stormy couldn't kick the goddess habit after all." Smirk.

The two admitted rulers of an independent kingdom and an autonymous principality listen to everything that's said and then... look at Jubilee like she's insane, though they quickly regain their composure.

"...Y'all shouldst come into the mead hall. Take food and drink. Start to rest from journeying so... apparently far. We shalt see about sending word before we try to go into the city."

"Food is good. Thanks," Laura said. She wasn't really familiar with Asgard, so she'd just let the others ask all the questions.

Meggan watches and listens to all of this, then nods, chiming in with the "Thank you"s but looking to Sarah Rogers a little as she tried to get the information straight in her head. Never eat with elves or ghosts, but dwarves and werewolves probably didn't count. Unless there was some other rule she didn't know about.

Storm in charge of Asgard that was certainly strange but he guessed strange was a part of the new jobs. Though the last part made sense to him at least.

"Sure that sounds like a good idea. Thanks."

Yep. Jubilee is definitely getting a talk.

Jubilee just responds to the offer of food and drink with a bit of mourning. "I'm... I'm good."

Hey, some losses of normalcy still sting, okay?

Jason frankly didn't like the idea of eating food with dwarves, werewolves, gods, or whatever they were. He was so tired of all this mystical crap. Jason never thought he'd miss his days in the CIA. The demon made eating and drinking more a luxury than a need, but he had a feeling refusing would cause trouble.
