Asgardian Gethsemene, Part 1.
When the Exiles materialize in their next location, they have a lot of new company in the middle of a rock-strewn, windy field. In the distance, there is a building with a slanted, thatched roof. It is the only building in the immediate vicinity, though those with sharp eyes may see various small structures even further in the distance.

Winter Soldier? That was what her 'Uncle' Bucky had gone by. And she certainly knew the Black Widow. A few versions. No question, that gets Sarah's attention - but she mostly keeps it quiet for now. Time to talk personal stuff later.

"I know at least some versions of a number of you, and can make educated guesses in some others as to what people contribute.

In any case, no world is standard. This one, we have food, drink and beds provided, even if it might be a little rough. Most often, we show up with no money, no allies, and scavenging to survive. A world or two down the road, this one will probably look like luxury.

Dory and Jason have heard the S.O.P. before. In an average world, the first goals need to be finding a safe place to sleep and heal any wounds from the last world - the Tallus often doesn't give us any chance to rest and recover. While some people are scouting and securing a place to rest, we need people out for information. In most worlds, that means a newspaper or the like.

If you have anything on you that's important to you, keep it with you at all times. When we jump, the tallus will bring along what it deems essential tools, weapons, and so on, but otherwise, if its not with you, it gets left behind.

	My parents have never, ever been on the telly," Meggan clarifies, since the most of the others' seem to have. "So do you shoot things with your eyes, or do you make sad speeches on television and then die?" She asks Nate completely earnestly. But then she looks back to Sarah and listens to her explanation. "If I may add something, Sarah?" Dory asks, holding up a finger. He looks around at the rest of the group. "If you're going to run commentary about how weird the situation is, try to do it inside your head. We sound crazy enough when we start talking about how we're being led around multiple realities by a piece of jewelry with poor communication skills; we don't need to be muttering to ourselves about past adventures on top of that.

"Also, remember: you don't know these people. Even if you recognize the names and the faces, even if they're the people you love back home, you don't know them here. They could be nothing like the person you know back home."

Sarah nods gratefully to Dory. "Exactly what he said. I've been to worlds where the usual heroes were villains and vice versa. I had to kill a couple versions of people who were close to me at home. I've been to a world where Mysterio was Sorceror Supreme... so, yeah. You cannot count on anything.

And be very grateful for the worlds where we have allies, or even hot food and beds. It might be a long stretch before the next one.

Now, shall we go over what we know on this world?"

"They don't normally use Southern slang, no. Nor do they usually have mutants running things. If there's a war council, then they suspect war is coming - with Thor, Odin, and likely others missing.

Meanwhile, our instructions are 'Hold'. I suspect we're here, at least for now, to prevent them from being overwhelmed. No slight against mutants, being one, but some of the enemies that could be attacking Asgard... might be a rough test."

"I'll go to the war council. I'll take volunteers to come with me, but someone more familiar with the later eras of typical X-Men activity might help me. Dory, Jason - take any volunteers who don't want to come to the council, and move around a little, meet some of the locals and get a feel for the place.

You two have more experience with how things can be different world to world. And if this goes badly, or these people turn out to be some kind of trick, I want to know our options for getting out and getting to cover fast. I also want a map of this place and a layout of the defenses. If we do get attacked, I need info to work with. And find out how many of the Asgardian big name gods we still have on our side, and how many X-Men, if you could?"
