It's the Greatest Show on Earth!
The van that turned down the street in front of the Champion's home looked like any other brown delivery truck. Black and gold letters painting it's side and a man in a uniform consisting of a hat, button-up shirt and shorts the same drab color of his van looking as bored as one could with his job. The van stopped just short of the former night club's entrance. The delivery driver turned around in his seat and rummaged around for the small package he had for the inhabitants.

Hopping out of his van, 10x10 box tucked under his arm, he headed to the door and rapped on it three times. Not waiting for an answer - there was no signature confirmation requested - he set it on the top step and went back to his van, signed off on his clipboard and started the vehicle up.

By the time the door to the old club opened, he was already driving away to carry on with the rest of his deliveries.

The brown cardboard box, ten inches by exactly ten inches was addressed to The Most Worthy 'Champion' and weighed perhaps three pounds at the most. There was no return address.

Alisa managed to work as fast as she could, creating a place for her to escape the gas, and give her some breathing room, so to speak. But before she could figure out where the current for the mirrors was coming from, something happened.

Her eyes suddenly rolled into the back of her head and she went into convulsions. They were pretty violent, her body jerking about, until it suddenly acme to a halt. Thanks to all the electrical shocks, it disrupted the "electricity" in her brain, causing a seizure. So much for her grand plan. The young Cajun was old cold, but this could be a good thing. If Arcade checked his monitors, she pretty much looked dead.

The fan she built, still partially hooked into the system, keeps running. It keeps the gas out of her hidey-hole, at the very least, though without the constant current, it runs only sporadically. Who knows how much time she might have?

She does, at the least, appear dead. At that, though everything continues running, the house of mirrors fills with sirens and blinking lights, and a big banner drops from the ceiling down the hall, adding to the macabre sign.

"Congratulations!" a clown head on one wall speaks in a high-pitched manic shriek. "You're the first casualty on this month's episode of... MURDERWORLD!"

Mirrors shatter and explode before the buildup of heat and pressure. Hellfire blasts forth from the cycle.
Its taken a while. Far too long. But Nick has finally homed in on the brightest spot of innocence present, and torn through the ride to get there.

He briefly puts out the fire ringing skeletal hands, and loads the unconscious form onto the back of the bike. Then, with the roar of the engine, he's off again, heading towards Lyta and hoping he's not too late.

Alisa was out cold, and practically dead weight in Nick's arms as he placed her on the back of his bike. her hands looked a bit dirty, as well as synged from touching the mirrors and getting shocked. But that damage did not seem as bad. What seemed bad was the fact she was not waking up. The only way Nick knew she was still alive was the fact she was breathing, and rather rapidly. At least she was free of that horrible room, now.

As the Rider made his way through the park, a second motercycle pulled up along side him. Red on black eyes that mirrored those of the young girl laying behind Nick's inner Demon smiled and gave a wink before pulling a handful of glowing playing cards from his coat and tossing them at the ground in front of the bike. He pulled away to a safe distance on the dirt paths between attractions while the cards went 'boom'.

The hellbike goes down, skidding along the ground. Nick manages to wrench control away from the rider long enough that he can shield Alisa from harm.
Clutching her in one arm, protecting her behind him as he rises, he returns fire with a blast of hellfire while he runs back towards his bike.

The man that appears to be Gambit pulls his bike around to block Nick's progress, dodging the hellfire by laying his bike out and skidding under a barker platform. Another volley of cards is brought out and thrown at the two. The only thing marking him as not whom he seems is the lack of a soul within the body.

He might have been able to dodge, but Nick isn't about to leave Alisa behind. He takes a square hit from a card, and goes flying as it detonates, slamming him into a food stand. Once again, he takes the worst of the impact to shield her. This fighting one armed isn't working, but he can't leave her.

And somewhere between their recent cooperation, and raw cunning, a plan hits. He dismisses the rider's bike, letting it turn back into Nick's Harley, and unburies himself from where he crashes, the skeletal figure rushing into the open and leaving himself open to try and draw Gambit and his bike towards him.

'Gambit' follows as Nick expected. His target was not the dead girl, but the skeletal rider than was trying to rescue her body. He flashed a grin and pulled out the whole deck this time, lighting it up and tossing it over head as he pulled up alongside Nick. Fifty-two card pick-up was enough to kill most people.

"Sucker." the demon growls, extending a hand.

Gambit's bike takes on a life of its own. The wheels catch fire, the front twists into the Rider's shield, and at the moment he's about to throw, it lurches to life under its own control. The Rider's bike has been destroyed or dispelled before - he's the king of the road, and now that bike will do nicely.

He tries to spark the transformation before Gambit can get clear of his former bike, trying to place the robot underneath his own rain of cards.

Either way, seems they're both in the minefield now. This is going to hurt - but he bets it'll hurt the robot more than it does him.

His ploy works. 'Gambit' cannot get clear of the motercycle because in reality, the robot is welded to it. It's legs connecting the two and not meant to part.

So the rain of cards hits it squarely even as the wires and servos along the torso of the robot are melted by the hellfire of the bike. The explosion destroys the remains, the bike existing and surviving perfectly fine under the reign of its new master while the charred and sparking chunks landed in a circle around the Rider.

Nicholas dismisses the new bike when its done with its usefulness.
Ok, yes, technically this new one was the Rider's bike, it would suffice just fine.

But the Harley, transformed or not, is /his/ bike, and you do not mess with a man's bike.

He kicks Gambit's head and picks Alisa up from the wreckage, and continues his journey towards the next most innocent soul, homing in, and his progress taking him right past Ennie's trap, on the way to Lyta's. Right now, he's navigating purely on guilt and innocence.
