Battle on the High Seas (of Canada)
When last we left our heroes, the hordes of Atlantis were heading straight for Canada, ready to enact great vengeance upon the surface world. The Fantastic Four had intervened, but were shot down over the open ocean (fortunately, the could all fly). But now they face an army of Atlanteans, including their mysterious leader....

Alpha Flight, alerted to the thread to Canada, has set off in its Alpha Flier in order to fight for truth, justice, and the Canadian Way! Fortunately for all concerned in this aquatic battle royal, Alpha Flight possesses not just one, but two aquatic heroes--the shapeshifter, Alex, and Marrina, daughter of the legendary Sub-Mariner himself!

Who will win? Will the hordes of Atlantis overtake Canada and then the world? And what has happened to the Atlantean Royal Family, Namor, Namora, and Namorita?

Find out...

	Sprinting between each makeshift foxhole and barricade he can make by warping the surface of the ship, Mason advances on the apparent leader. His powers lose some of their kick at long range, so he needs to get closer. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

For a moment, Draconia actually believed that she could win. Even with her army standing down, even with the blasted heroes of the surface world bearing down upon her.

But then... then Namor was upon her, and not just him, but Namora and her blasted daughter too, and more of her own soldiers...

The blow hit her hard, knocking her to the deck. "I'll kill you!" she snarled, throwing a punch at Namor.

Namor watched the punch come at him, but he calmly lifted a hand and caught Draconia's fist, holding it in place as he squeezed on her knuckles.

"You would have done better to kill me before it came to this. Now, you are alone, outmatched, and awaiting your fate."

Namor's grip became vise-like at that moment, and he shoved Draconia to the ground again, his eyes filled with contempt.

"Draconia, you have proven to me, beyond doubt, that failure is inherited through birth. Your father was a failure; you are a failure.

But he at least knew when he was beaten. Stand down, or die." he says.

	Draconia gasped, from both pain and surprise. Her scientists had assured her the genetic alterations they had done would make her the equal of Namor, but now... Even that could not hurt as much as the potential truth in the Sub-Mariner's words. "I... I shall yield," she said, finally. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

As much as he wanted to reach out and rip Draconia's head from her shoulders for her treachery, she'd yielded to him with little true effort on his part. His people would see that he broke her will with words alone, and perhaps that would restore a measure of his sovereignty.

"I will accept your surrender. Where is my trident?" he asks as several Atlantean soldiers move forward to secure Draconia.

Mason furrowed his brow as the battle seems to be coming to a close. Whatever the woman had done, he was pretty sure she was the Big Bad, Namor was... well, it turns out he's kind of a prick when he wins.

Dude, this is Marrina's dad. He could turn you into a greasy little smear across the hull of this thing. DON'T SAY ANYTHING STUPID.

He looks around for Marrina, giving himself some distance from the king, who Mason is just glad is a bit mroe dressed than just wearing his royal speedo today.

When she had imagined what her birth father might be like, Marrina had been well aware of the various times he'd declared war on the surface world, of the threats he had made, and that, yes, he was the king of an undersea empire. But she was still not sure she'd expected him to be quite so much of a pompous jerk.

But there was a nobility there too, she could see it.

Marrina stood, almost transfixed, near Namora and Namorita, as the Atlanteans stood down and took Draconia away.
