The Best Laid Plans
The Empress was most pleased. Very pleased indeed. Things were going according to her plan. The recent fights had been entertaining and she had her champion. Now she could win the games here on her home world. Her champion would win no matter what and she now had more soldiers in her army. She was quite pleased indeed.

She was stretched out on her litter as four of her soldiers carried her to the area. It was the start of the games and by the end her champion would be victorious.

Everything was going according to plan.

	Her brother was significantly heavier and stronger than she was. The punch connected and Svalin was thrown back. She landed and immediately jumped up to her feet. Blood filled her mouth and she spit it out. She charged ahead. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He's bigger and stronger, she's quicker and better at thinking on her feet. They've done this hundreds of times, and its always interesting. This time, the only difference is its for real, no holding back. He tries to be wary of her feints, trying to catch her fist in one of these punches, and pull her into a bear hug. 	He caught her fist, but she was quick enough to bring up a foot for a kick to his gut before he brought her in for a bear hug. She knew she wouldn't get free if he got his arms around her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She knows his moves better than he knows hers. She studies and learns, he reacts. But he can play dirty too. As he doubles over from the kick, he turns it into a headbutt aimed at her nose. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She's bloodied him, he's bloodied her, only fair. He takes the hit, his head spinning to the side. Rather than trying to fight it, he spins, lashing out as he comes around with a wide arching backhand swing. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He trips and hits the ground heavily. Part of the problem, of course, is he has a tough time getting mad enough at his sister. And without that edge, its hard to deny that she's better. He's more durable, but its still leaving him a punching bag. He rolls up, not quite to his feet, but enough to swing a gut punch at her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She felt the pull on her hair and then a fist to her face. Then another. Then another. And then another. White spots danced in front of her eyes. As a last resort she delivered a kick aim at his head. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	On his best days, when he's halfway gone by now, that wouldn't stop him. Now, its his sister, he just can't lose it on her. Its not in him to do so. The kick breaks the hold and sends him sprawling, testing his jaw. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin took the brief moment to shake off the pain. She wiped at her nose with the back of her hand and then wiped it off on her skirt. She waits patiently for him. She favored tactics and strategy over brute strength and savagery. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin almost smiled at the expected charge. Her brother could be predictable at times. Not frequently, but he had his moments. This was one of them. She waited until the last second to side step the rush and when he was almost past her, she intertwined her fingers and brought both hands down on his back. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The axe handle slam destroyed any balance he had. He goes face-first through a wall, then another. Reinforced alien materials have nothing on the bull rushing bear-god. 	That was definitely not what he was anticipating, but he's not a total idiot. When there's no immediate attack, instead og going back through the hole, he charges back through the wall, making a new one. He figures if she's waiting for him, he has a 50/50 chance of guessing which side she's waiting on in hiding. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He clenches his hands into fists. If there's a time to finish a foe, its when you have them reeling and off-guard. But its his sister, princess of Asgard. He steps back and lets her get to her feet.
