Worlds Crumble
Enough time had passed and Kal had decided that it was time for lunch with her two cousins. Eli needed to meet Iason and vice versa. They were family after all and they would be dealing with each other for a VERY long time. It was best to get to know each other now.

Kalypso picked a small delicatessen in the Village. It was small enough that it wouldn't be crowded with people and yet have a wide variety of foods. The three of them were curious about humans and new experiences so Kal picked a place that would give them a variety of things to try.

She was early for a change. Mom always advised being fashionably late, but Kal thought that it was only okay for parties. For meeting friends and family it was just rude. Kal grabbed a cup of coffee, a table and waited.

Eli appears in an alley, out of view of the humans (for they don't always take well to that sort of thing), and adjusted his shirt and long peacoat. Kalypso thought it would be best that met Iason now, and Eli agreed.

He simply hoped the enmity between their fathers did not decide to carry over to this generation. Otherwise, eternity would get very long on this very smile planet. Of course, there was always Titan.

He walked up behind Kalypso, then before her and smiled, taking the seat to her left.

"Cousin, I'm glad you called. Father was just about to start in on his nine-hundred and tenth reiteration of why we should rule humanity, and I needed a way out. Mother distracted him and sends her regards." he smiled.

"Is Iason running late?" he asked.

	He accepted the kiss on the cheek and returned it. He was glad to see her smiling. "Oh, I hope Sersi is well, but there will be time for more get-togethers in the future. "Life is well. But..." he pauses, as if he is about to say something he is not comfortable with.

"I find myself more and more curious about humans. Since meeting so many of them, I find myself horrified at some of the things they do to each other, but intrigued at how much potential they have within them." he says.

"Father thinks I'm becoming soft on them, that I am losing my focus." he says, shrugging his shoulders.

"I've spoken to several of them at length, about any and everything. Some of them were odd, others very inviting and kind. One even tried to rob me." he chuckles.

	Kal nodded. "They are intriguing to say the least. Probably why Mother adores them so." She smiled. "Liking humans is not becoming soft. We were created to protect them and this planet. His posture and expression lightened considerably after her words.

"Thank you, Kalypso. I needed to hear that." he says.

"I must meet as many humans as I can, hear as many stories as I can from them. The only complaint I can that I have of them is that several of them think too loudly for me to block out at times." he says, shaking his head.

"Perhaps I can meet your friends as well, and hear their stories. The idea of humans working to help their fellows intrigues me, and their motivations must be equally interesting." he says.

"Do they serve cappuccino here?" he asks, suddenly.

"You're welcome," she said. "They do think too loudly. Though the more you are around them, the easier it will be to block out. I hear them only when I want to. It's the strong telepaths that you have to watch out for." Kal wasn't sure how much Druig has taught him about mutants and all the different abilities they possessed.

"Despite what humans are capable of doing to each other, they are also capable of compassion, caring and understanding. Like everything, there is the good and the bad. The light and the dark."

"Iason may be the better one to introduce you to the Avengers. He's a full-time member and knows them well. I'm only a reserve and I barely know them."

"They do. It's rather good."

He nods as she speaks, considering how much humans are like the Eternals. They are offshoots of each other, so why wouldn't they be alike? Druig made sure to point out that humans are less than Eternals and so need to be protected, no matter how many of them have abilities that mimic their own.

"Have you ever considered joining them in full, cousin? Or do you enjoy your freedom more?" he asks her.

"Ah, that is the drink I must cut down up. I find myself liking it more than I should, even without the vodka." he says.

"Cappuccino is good," Kal said. One good thing about being an Eternal was that she could eat absolutely anything and not gain weight.

"I have, but now is not the right time. I am still developing my powers and I am not sure if I want to fight on a regular basis if I do not have to. I want to enjoy life for a little bit." While she didn't want to be a total hedonist like her parents, she did want to enjoy the pleasurable things.

"It is! I think I've tried seven different flavors since I left Polaria, and that's only because I'm trying to save some for the rest of my life." he jokes.

"There is no shame in wanting to enjoy life, cousin. And endless warfare isn't good for the soul. Still, we do good where we can, and hope that it will be enough." he says. He tried to explain his position to his father once, and was promptly ridiculed for it.

"How is your significant other?" he asked her.

He's running late, but with a reason. Trying to sneak in a little more time with Eliza. Its been most enjoyable, and he's gotten so little of it. Still, Kalypso was very certain this meeting was a good idea, and it was a short trip, as he goes anyway.

Even when fully dressed and not flashing the Avengers' badge, he draws notice. He makes his way into the restaurant under some attention.

"I hope I'm not too far behind? Mind if I join you?"

Eli was aware of Iason as he walked and had to admit that he understood why the man drew attention. He stood as Iason made his way to the table, then extended a hand in greeting.

"Hello, cousin Iason. It is good to finally make your acquaintance. I've heard much of you and I hope that we can be friends." Eli says. Eli will sit down again once Kalypso and Iason have sat.

"I hope today finds you well." Eli says to Iason.

"Its a pleasure to meet you as well. Kalypso has told me something about you. And thank you, today finds me..."

He pauses as visions float across his eyes. He does his best to shake them off. This usually only happens when he sleeps.

"Today..."

Cities in flames. Familiar cities. A dark face in shadows, lording over it all.

"Finds me..."

Maniacal laughter and a tower rising above the Earth high into the sky, bloodstained and majestic.

"Hell."

He collapses, clutching at his head. The Uni-Mind hasn't fallen yet, but it soon will. And the oracle, much as he wishes he weren't one, is the first to fall.

Eli's expression also became concerned as Iason began to collapse and moved to aid him. When the other man told him to shield himself, he started to ask him what he meant.

"Iason, you're not making any sense..." Eli said, as a strange pressure began to build at the back of his mind. He'd not felt anything like this before, but the pain was quickly intensifying.

"Something...something is wrong." Eli said.

It was all Eli could do not to land on either of them as he fell, the splitting pain in his head not receding. He wanted to concoct a mental shield right now, but the thought wouldn't form in his head due to the pain.

"Kalypso...is...Iason all right?" he asked, looking to his other cousin. Eli's telepathy good, but not nearly as strong as some he'd seen. Judging by Iason's reaction, he might well be one of those whose telepathy is a primary strength.

He gritted his teeth in anguish as the pain continued.

	Iason's telepathy is /terrible/. As such, the psychic backlash isn't quite as bad for him as for the other two. Its certainly no fun, especially with his dad likely at the center of the Uni-Mind, but he recovers with a pounding headache - but probably not as bad as Kal's. "The Uni-Mind has been destroyed. Eli looked to Kalypso, shocked and angered at the pain she was enduring. His own was notable, but it began to ease as her heard the voice of his lord father, Druig of Nightmares, in his mind.

"Gather yourself and return to Polaria, my son. We are under attack." Druig says, his voice strained.

"I will return, father, and I will bring aid." Eli says.

He doesn't know where said aid will come from, but he will figure that out after he aids his cousins.

	They appeared out of thin air and Kal gasped when she saw the sight before her. Olympia, once a shining city of technology and beauty, was almost in ruins and smoke billowed into the air. 	Finally free of the paralyzation, Dae blinks when Kalypso, Eli, and Iason arrive of the scene. He is even more curious about the red being landing in front of him. "Cousin," he starts to Kalypso, but he's hard pressed to finish. The situation is not the best for striking up casual conversation. (Reply to this)(Parent)
