Valentine's Day
The information from Anya had been most helpful. He's had to go through channels, but with the Defenders' connections it hasn't been a problem. He's sent invitations to two of his favorite women he's met on Midgard: Chris Grant-Pym and Vernique Denning, asking them to join him for Valentine's Day, if they're free. No, he hasn't checked with anyone on the propriety of asking them both.

	Chris was thrilled to get the invite. Hal definitely wasn't the romance type, but she was more than happy to have someone to have some fun with, in whatever context, on V-day. After a flight and cab ride, she walks up to the front door of the Defenders' headquarters, buzzing the intercom for her host. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Chris gives him a hug around the neck that leaves her room for daylight beneath both her feet, kissing his cheek. "Good to see you too, beefcake. 	Vernique was quite happy to get the invitation. Brief polite notes preceding cross-country flights and A Lovely Time was a reasonably normal fun Valentine's Day in her experience. She rings the buzzer on the front step. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Disrespect, at least, he understands. He sets Chris down, carefully, then nods.

Thou'rt mine two ver' favorites of all of the mortal world, and truth, e'en pressed now, I couldst not decide between thee if forced, for thou'rt both most fair, and most creative. The nights I hath spent with thee hath been the finest of mine experiences here on Midgard, and truly, if there wast to be but a single day to celebrate beauty and fine times, twas the both of thee that came immediately to mine mind. Truly, no offense wast meant."

	Aw, he's so darn earnest. You can't really suspect him of intending the insult. "I'm willing to forgive. But we've still got something of a situation here." There were a few Situations she'd be okay with, when properly negotiated. But this isn't one of them. "I suppose I can find a spa that'll squeeze me in, but we can all get lunch first." We canst see to other dalliances another time, for today... we hath all of Los Angeles and San Diego's restaurants for dinner and lunch alike, and a vast stretch of beach to ourselves. Doth either of thee surf? And if not, still I wouldst gladly see to both of thy needs for drinks, massage, suntan oil... whate'er else might be useful in such times, to see the both of thee in bikinis."

Halbjorn may only have so many virtues sometimes - modesty, chastity and humility aren't among them. But honesty definitely is, perhaps even to a greater degree than his father. You wouldn't know he was Loki's grandson - Aslief got all of that.

"I know the place not, but am most willing to try it. And we hath surf boards here... and I doth know a place we canst climb as well, Chris."

Yeah, this may turn out to be a pretty entertaining day after all.

If the sentiment had been aloud, Chris would have echoed it. Lookit the bear all dressed up. She wasn't so familiar with the restaurants in the area, so she was happy to rely on V's proficiency.

"Mom's dating a quote on quote nice guy I haven't met yet, but sounds alright, and Dad's working on some theoretical miniaturization into the next scale below the Microverse, the 'Nanoverse'. I'm expecting him to brand it with the Pym-tech logo if he finds it." She grins and shrugs.

"As for the 'other' family, everyone at the Institute's doing fine for the most part; got a new roommate who's pretty fun. Stuff on your end?"

Vernique notices the grammatical problem, but manages to refrain from correcting it, as that Is Not Done in casual conversation. It's only grammar, after all. Not like it's shoes or something.

"I have to admit, at the risk of mixing metaphors, that anything tinier than a half-centimeter object is completely Over My Head. Dad's in Berthyoneaux. Mom's fine, let me go to a Nevell meeting for her recently now that my school workload's so light. I'm back to doing a little Avenging."

She smiles to Halbjorn. "How are your sisters?"

Chris nods. "I met her, briefly, the last time I came out here. She's... intense." That counted as polite, right? "Don't think I caught your other two sisters though." She munches away at some of her entree.

"Your cat's really cute." She grins at Halbjorn. "And I say this even after the trouble cats have put me through lately." She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Apparently I was supposed to be some chosen one or somesuch, but I've got my teammates, and you, to thank for the ritual not working."

"Yeah... magic can do some great stuff, but for those not using it, it's a headache and a half. The mojo that gives Mom her powers is what makes my transforming so weird to begin with." Chris grimaces, but then smiles.

"Yeah, I bet you all have a lot of love for each other."

Something pricks her memory. "Oh right, V, I didn't know you'd be here, but I've got some new outfits I put together I want to show you." She grins.

Chris grins and nods. "Some new designs I came up with last week and pulled all-nighters to put together. I had a bunch of extra zippers, denim, and some black lace scraps I wanted to work with. I think you'll like it." She turns to Halbjorn. "And I'm sure I could use a male's opinion after seeing them on a person."

She smiles and nudges him affectionately with her foot. "You're a good brother."
