At the Slaughtered Lamb
"In ancient times when werewolves roamed the land
There was an old pub called The Slaughtered Lamb"

Sammy arrived by taxi just after 7pm. She admitted to herself she was a little nervous. Nervous was not a normal feeling for her. The first time he'd caught her by surprised and got a cranky mood in return. His file was committed to memory, but there was a gaping hole in the information. Nowhere in it did she find anything brother-like and that was who she was meeting tonight. Now she wished she'd thought to ask someone to come with her.

The Slaughtered Lamb pub was a recommendation sometime back from Misha. His love of bad horror flicks dredged up 'An American Werewolf in London', and the two main characters encounter with the locals in the Slaughter Lamb. Sammy had never had a reason to come here before. It seemed like good neutral territory.

She stepped inside the pub and was immediately enveloped in the smells of food and people, the clacking of pool balls from the billiards room, and the murmur of voice and laughter. People were having a good time.

"I've been out since I was eighteen." Not that Dad hasn't made noises about it in the past, but she suspected that now it was because Mikel showed up. "I'm settled where I am for now. It's not like their place isn't close enough to visit every week."

But Mikel knew Dad, and Dad wouldn't let her live just anywhere. "I share a house with some kids whose parents are good friends with Mom and Dad." The Avengers mansion qualified, right? It was practically Animal House sometimes, and that was just the senior team.

	Before Mikel could answer a waitress came over to take their orders. Mikel ordered a steak with a side of potatoes. No vegetables or greens. He ordered another glass of beer. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Sammy wasn't quite so anti-green. She asked for the grilled shell steak, rare, with fries and a side salad. Fatigue from power usage was managed better with a more balanced diet than her preferred meat and potatoes. The waitress walked away and Sammy turned a waiting expression on Mikel. "You didn't say no either when I asked specifically. But if you don't want to talk about her, that's all right. Everybody has secrets."

She gave him the smile she gave Dad when he was being like this and not willing to say yes, but definitely not saying no. Besides, if she could keep him on the defensive, so to speak, he wouldn't get around to figuring out she was keeping secrets.
