Forging the Sword
The half moon was hazy behind high cirrus clouds and the air had a slight chill to it. The night around Braddock Manor was still and quiet, but it wouldn't last. A portal opened and demons poured out along with the stench of brimstone. They headed directly for the manor house.

Ripples of magic spread out from the center. Fire cut through the darkness. Demonic screams and roars shattered the silence.

When it was over Braddock Manor lay in smoldering ruins and there were no signs of the residents.

“I don’t think I would be of much use to you in that type of fight,” Casey said calmly, “But with the amount of people that liked them I’m sure there are people that would want to take down that gouger.”

Quinn nodded. "Right now I could use all the help I can get. I'm not exactly from around here and don't know many people."

"Look, mate, when I say I'm not from around here, I'm not from around here. Let's just say I know about ten people in the whole world. I'm from another world and could use someone who knows their bloody way around."

“Well you made a great choice since I’ve only been to London three times counting now, but I understand what you mean,” Casey said, “but I’ll see what I can do. I think I saw a pub not too far from here we could get the local story from there.”

Quinn smiled. "Mate, now you're speaking my language. Let me do a little more snooping around on the magic side then we can go grab some pints."

“Aye, that sounds like a plan, and I need to do some more interviews anyways,” Casey said thinking about how he had yet to talk in any of the witnesses. “Well it was nice to meet ya Quinn.”
