Show and Tell - Calling Special Ops
Sammy finished up the details for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s newest special ops team and called the first meeting aboard the helicarrier. This time Dad's office wasn't available or requested so there was no mistaking which Fury was in charge. Col. Fury would hear about the meeting soon enough. He might even show up to give his view on why he created the team.

For this meeting, all she wanted was to get the quarters assigned, equipment procured, questions answered and let everyone meet each other and find out why each of them were chosen for this team. Forget that she was a little anxious about it. Being a Fury in S.H.I.E.L.D. meant people watched to see you fail to live up to the Colonel's example. She had to be better just to be considered satisfactory, and temper it with patience and humor so she didn't drive everyone around her insane.

If this worked, she would definitely owe Uncle Steve a thank you for showing her how a powered team could be led without climbing a bell tower.

He's running a bit behind. Interesting night, followed by rushing out to get breakfast, and being called back in when he was in the midst of getting morning-after-a-good-time food. He had to grab what he could, snagging something for the meeting on the way in, had to check that he was vaguely presentable in his t-bird's rear-view mirror, then rush back, and then up, taking the stairs in mini-Hulk leaps.

"Hey everyone, hope I'm not too late. I brought..." his eyes fall on Alice.
Then his eyes fall on Del.

"Tarts... to... share."

	Oh great, undercurrents already. Just what every new team needed along with a name and a tee shirt. It was still workable, though. The line up didn't have to stay that way if it created more of a disruption than absolutely necessary. "Good morning, Aleks. Save the Ma'am for the Contessa, I'm happy with Sam." Undercurrents? Well, probably not anything Sammy should have to worry about. These were just two people Aleks was not expecting to see in association with one another. Now that the initial shock is past, he sits down between them, looking fairly pleased, all things considered.

Yeah, this could be a much worse working environment.

"Number Six, Qamar el-Sayed." She nodded to him. "Around the table - Alice Dugan, Aleks Childress, Delilah Bishop, and John Walker."

She stood up and paced a little. "I spoke to all of you separately, so what I'm saying won't be anything new. We were each hand selected by Col. Fury for a special ops team for what we specifically bring to the team. Our primary purpose is to respond to powered threats in any form. A lot of our work may be in secret and we may not be needed as much as a normal SHIELD team would expect. We'll be quartered in the same section on the helicarrier, full access to the training facilities here and in the directorate, as well as armed with some interesting toys that will be available when needed. Questions so far?"

"I also would like each of us to know why the others were chosen. Like I said, you're all here for a specific reason. The sort of missions we'll be called out on will require a lot of trust in each other. After a little show and tell, you can get settled in your quarters and we'll start going over the files that the Colonel wants us to be familiar with. There will be regularly scheduled training. We'll be working around several student schedules as well."

She glanced at Qamar, then Alice. They knew what she could do. The other three would require a demonstration. Her gaze went to them. "For my first trick, I'll need a volunteer from the audience."

	Del didn't volunteer. She was quite perplexed at the 'show and tell' as Fury put it. Showing abilities off in a non-combatant setting was pointless in her book. She didn't care what a person could do in this setting, it wasn't a true measure of what one could do. Combat situations and high pressure situations were better for judging abilities.
